Holuski

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2008
We LOVE Halushki(how we spell it)! This has been a staple in our house since before I was born- now my kids love it too! In order for this dish to taste SUPREME you have to fry the cabbage with the onion. In fact I put the cabbage in the pan for about 10 minutes before I add the onion. Let the cabbage lightly brown for the most tasty result. Egg noodles are great but you can use Farfalle, Rotini or Elbows. ENJOY this comfort food! We tend to use a lot of pepper and salt for this recipe as well as garlic powder.

Tomatillo Salsa Verde

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
This was VERY good. I made this as written except I added another serrano- we like ours a little spicier. Once it was blended it ended up a little too watery for me. We like to use our salsa as a dip for tortillas so I coursely chopped 1 cup of Red Onion and a 1/2 cup Cilantro to give it some weight. I will make this again. Without the modifications to suit our needs it was a 5- the flavor is AWESOME!

Oatmeal Jam Squares

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
I have made this recipe twice in one weekend. It is very good. Here are some tips. Use the 9 X 13 pan but you will need to reserve only about 3/4 C of crumb mixture- otherwise there won't be enough to pack into the pan. I reserved all of the walnuts for the topping. I added 1 TSP of Vanilla and subbed nutmeg for cinnamon. Oh one more thing... I used half a jar of jam for each batch.

Broiled Sweet and Tangy Tilapia

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2008
This was good. YOU NEED TO DOUBLE THE SAUCE RECIPE~I didn't. The bites that had the sauce richly drizzled on them were really good! I used Olive oil instead of butter.

Pasta Pascal

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2008
This was exactly what I was looking for. A very tasty, light pasta dish. I had to make one substitution- used one can of diced tomatoes (drained) instead of the fresh. Very Good Recipe!!! Will make again with the fresh Romas.

Pace® Sirloin Steak Ole

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2009
I have no idea if the steak was so good from the picante or the cooking but this was SO tender. Cooked sirloin on the grill- low heat to sear and then indirect heat for about 25 minutes- SO tender. Used about 8 oz of the hot picante!

Zippy Ground Beef Skillet

Reviewed: May 11, 2008
I am giving this recipe a 4 because I liked it ALOT and everyone else rated it a 2. You need to add the jalapeno peppers- don't leave them out. I didn't cook mine with the peppers (my little guys do not like) and it was not very good. I added pickled jalapenos to my portion and it was very good. Served with tortilla chips. ADD THE PEPPERS! UPDATE: I have modified this into a dish that my guys LOVE. Couple of minor tweaks and HOLY COW..yum yum good.

Cupcake Princess' Vanilla Cupcakes

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2011
Very different mixture- I was afraid the cupcakes would be flat because the batter was very thin- but they were springy and moist.

Italian Pasta Florentine

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2009
Liked this one alot! Used Mozzarella Chicken Sausage and added a cup of chicken broth to the meat mixture at the end of cooking. Also used fresh spinach and a Tbls of basil- as others recommended. Served with Linguine. I would serve this for a BIG crowd. It is really easy to make and it can keep in a chaffing dish well. REALLY, REALLY good!

Peanut Butter Cupcakes

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2008
These were great. I didn't taste the cinnamon as another review said- the batter was really good. I did have to add 2 more TBLS of milk to the icing as Aprilart mentioned. The icing is not really an icing but a really thick glaze. I did double the peanut butter in the icing- so maybe that is why... I piped mine on with a tip and bag so when it spread it wouldn't drip over the sides. I made 12 regular sized baked about 30 minutes and made 12 mini muffins baked about 15 minutes. I piped some melted chocolate bars on the big ones. Thought the icing and the cake go hand and hand- very tasty.

Stir-Fried Rice

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2007
I was so surprised at how easy and great tasting this was. I had to modify the rice- I had chicken flavor steam in the bag rice; so i used a 1/2 cup of water along with the soy sauce and steamed the rice in the pan. I also added garlic powder and about 1/2 tsp ground ginger. Super good- nothing left- my kids who won't touch take out fried rice asked for seconds. Will use again and will add meat.

Magnificent Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: May 29, 2012
Made this yesterday- It's really good. I love that I didn't have to chop a ton of stuff. Did add a significant amount more of Mayo- It was too dry otherwise and I added another 2tsp of rice wine vinegar. Had to sub a tsp of celery salt for the seed and salt. LOVED THIS. WILL MAKE IT AGAIN.

Carrot Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2010
EASY AND GOOD! I put all the ingredients except the butter in the crockpot and cooked it all day on low. Blended it up and cooked it on high for another 2 hours- added the butter at this time- ALL of it. I also added two ears of corn- cut off the cob and 2 bay leaves. Blended the corn right up with the carrots. I thought this soup was FANTASTIC. Oh- I used 6 cups of veggie stock instead of the chicken.
