Liquid Vampire

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2014
It's very sweet. I am not a fan of sweet drinks but wanted to make this for recipe group and HALLOWEEN!! It's refreshing and the color is great. I used diet cranberry and chambord. Others liked it very much.

These were a-ok. Made them for Saturday night movie time! I made half with pepperoni half plain cheese. I also used pizza dough vs the cresent rollls- they are too sweet.

Chicken Paprika

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2014
Made this for recipe group. Instead of cutting the chicken into little pieces I cut the breasts in half. It was very good. I used bouillon in place of the stock. I thought the dish had great flavor.

Layered Beef Salad with Warm Dressing

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2014
This was super good!! Didn't add the jicama or eggs but think it would be great with them. The steak was so good. I will make it again.

Thai Orange Chicken

This was yummy!! I doubled the recipe. Added broccoli to the carrot mixture. I didn't have peanuts so I subbed 2 tbs of peanut butter. I did add significant salt and pepper. Very nice sauce.

Amish Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2014
The texture of this bread was fantastic. The crust was flaky too. It was not dense but fluffy. The flavor was good too. Thank you for a nice change. I used grapeseed oil instead of canola. Thanks to the reviewers who gave the tip about the water amount.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2014
This is tangy and not overly sweet. Made as written except I did not have vanilla. It was still very good.

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2014
Made as written but omitted the raisins. (Fam doesn't like them). My issue is that my cake was done at 40 minutes. I used a 9x13 pan. Initially, the cake was dry but after refrigerating overnight I did become moist. Flavor is good.

Fettuccine with Sweet Pepper-Cayenne Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2014
This was tasty and spicy. I only used a 1/2 tsp of cayenne. I don't think we could have handled more. I had second thoughts about adding the parm to the sauce. It gets clumpy instead of smooth. Next time I'll add a bit of cream cheese and keep the parm for the topping. I liked the flavors. (The sauce goes really well with zucchini noodles too).

Thai Grilled Chicken with Chile Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2014
This was good. Used No Sin Sugar instead of Splenda. I think you need the fish sauce for this one. Subbed crushed red pepper for the chile and it was SPICY.

Blue Ribbon Meatloaf from Crosse & Blackwell

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2014
Believe it or not it wasn't as tangy as you'd think it would be. Nice for a change but doesn't beat Mom's. I'd would try this one if you are on the fence. The only change I made was subbing turkey bacon- it did crisp up real nice.
