Savory Slow Cooker Beef Tips

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2014
We liked this. I didn't have the gingerale so I used sparkling water. So not the same but this came out really good. The mushrooms were so good.

Orange Romaine Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2014
I really liked this salad! It was super refreshing and quite good. I added pink radish and only used one large navel orange- SUPER JUICY!! The only issue that I have is that there was WAY TOO much dressing. I cut back the oil to 1/2 cup and it was too much- and I only put 1/2 of it on the salad and it was swimming.

Vegetarian Korma

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2014
The flavor was really good but I was unhappy with the recipe instructions. I microwaved the carrot and potato to partially cook them and cooked the recipe as instructed. The carrots still were too hard and there wasn't enough liquid to cook the carrot or potato with out adding a bit of water. If I didn't partially cook them I am not sure how they'd soften. I also subbed coconut milk for the cream. I loved the flavor. I'd make it again but cook the potato and carrot a bit longer.

Anyday Potato Caesar Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2014
This was very good. Added a bunch of Caesar flavored croutons and nixed the bacon. The dressing didn't get super thick. It did make a lot- I only used half for the salad. The potatoes were a great addition. Will make it again.

Easy and pretty good. Used rotisserie chicken and added a can of carrots. Plus I added celery salt and lots of pepper.

Hot 'n' Spicy Buffalo Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2014
This was a winner. I even bought the salad seasoning for this dish. (normally I make it on the fly) Glad I did. Kiddos and husband really liked this one. I added a red bell pepper because I had one on hand. Great addition.

KRAFT RECIPE MAKERS Southwest Chicken and Bell Pepper Wrap

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2014
Well wouldn't you believe my store didn't sell this recipe makers combo!!! I subbed Campbell's slow cooker sauces- apple bourbon BBQ with sweet peppers and brown sugar. Threw in the chicken and peppers as listed. Was good. 1/2 the group raved. The other 1/2 said it was meh. I would assume the proper sauce would make it just right. (Ps. I plan my weekly meals from home before shopping- that's why I subbed the sauces on the fly).

Split Pea Soup with Rosemary

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2014
This was very good. I didn't add bacon and just started sautéing the veggies. I used 3 small leeks a full 16 oz bag of peas and about 42 oz of chicken broth. I added a tsp of salt and pepper. This is very satisfying soup. I froze my batch to pop in the microwave for lunches.

Pineapple Chicken Tenders

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2014
Made exactly as written. Chicken tasted good and was juicy. Use medium heat or you will burn your chicken because of all the sugar in the marinade. No complaints. I think additions of ginger and garlic would add a bit more flavor.

Slow Cooker Boneless Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2014
This was super good! I had a smaller breast so we only used one packet of onion soup; everything else the same. YUMMY.

Serbian Ground Beef, Veggie, and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2014
We liked this. I thought while making this that the tiny amount of wine, cinnamon and clove would not make any difference. Well I was wrong. You only need a small amount of each. I added another layer of potatoes in the middle of the casserole. All in all I used 5. I did season them with canola oil and seasoned salt before putting them in the casserole.

Chef John's Boston Cream Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2014
Made this last week for my brother in law's bday. I think the concept and the flavors are very good. But I had to go with 4 stars based on the directions. My pastry cream did not set properly. I actually had to get it out of the fridge and back on the heat. Please keep your heat on medium until it actually thickens. Keep whisking- it may take a bit longer than you expect. The ganache was easy to make but I got the chocolate premelted in the microwave. About 30 seconds on power 6 before adding the milk mixture. Even after cooling for an hour it was still a bit runny. I bought one vanilla 9 in layer from the grocery store bakery and cut it with dental floss. This way it was more like the store bought versions of BCP. After all the pastry cream drama it came out great. (I added another tsp of vanilla).

Chicken and Corn Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2014
This was great. I loved the salsa as the sauce. We dumped everything in all at once and turned it on low. A few shakes of hot sauce and a dollop of sour cream. Wow this hit the spot. As I was eating it I thought it would be so good rolled up in a burrito. I see others thought the same thing! EASY, TASTY and low cal. Got to love it. We subbed Navy beans for the pinto.

Broccoli Cheddar Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2014
This was really good. It doesn't look very appetizing but it tastes darn good. Added 1/4 C of Parmesan. You need to eat this fast- it's not so good cold.

Breaded Toasted Ravioli

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2014
These were not good. And I wonder if it was my fault. I bought the ravioli that is in the refrigerated section- the gourmet kind. Not the frozen kind. I made 2 kinds. Cheese and artichoke. The were so over cooked and dry. I was thinking I should have soaked them in water prior. Lots of work for no pay off. :(

Jet Swirl Pizza Appetizers

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2014
These went so fast I couldn't get a picture!! I baked for 30 minutes on a stone slab. I didn't flip. I let it set for 15 minutes before cutting. The inside wasn't "done" but it wasn't raw. I think it was perfect. I didn't have a nub to throw way. Every last bit was gone. I used both cheeses and only used turkey pepperoni for the meat. WE LOVED THIS ONE.

Cherry Breeze Martini

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2014
This was so much more cherry tasting than I thought it would be! It's in the fruity side so it's great for people like my sister who don't like harsh drinks. I just added another shot of vodka to mine. :)
