Layered Beef Salad with Warm Dressing

This was super good!! Didn't add the jicama or eggs but think it would be great with them. The steak was so good. I will make it again.

This was yummy!! I doubled the recipe. Added broccoli to the carrot mixture. I didn't have peanuts so I subbed 2 tbs of peanut butter. I did add significant salt and pepper. Very nice sauce.

Amish Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2014
The texture of this bread was fantastic. The crust was flaky too. It was not dense but fluffy. The flavor was good too. Thank you for a nice change. I used grapeseed oil instead of canola. Thanks to the reviewers who gave the tip about the water amount.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

This is tangy and not overly sweet. Made as written except I did not have vanilla. It was still very good.

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2014
Made as written but omitted the raisins. (Fam doesn't like them). My issue is that my cake was done at 40 minutes. I used a 9x13 pan. Initially, the cake was dry but after refrigerating overnight I did become moist. Flavor is good.

Fettuccine with Sweet Pepper-Cayenne Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2014
This was tasty and spicy. I only used a 1/2 tsp of cayenne. I don't think we could have handled more. I had second thoughts about adding the parm to the sauce. It gets clumpy instead of smooth. Next time I'll add a bit of cream cheese and keep the parm for the topping. I liked the flavors. (The sauce goes really well with zucchini noodles too).

Thai Grilled Chicken with Chile Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2014
This was good. Used No Sin Sugar instead of Splenda. I think you need the fish sauce for this one. Subbed crushed red pepper for the chile and it was SPICY.

Blue Ribbon Meatloaf from Crosse & Blackwell

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2014
Believe it or not it wasn't as tangy as you'd think it would be. Nice for a change but doesn't beat Mom's. I'd would try this one if you are on the fence. The only change I made was subbing turkey bacon- it did crisp up real nice.

Pasta Bake

Major hit in our house. Doubled the recipe. Kids loved it. I also, put the meat sauce over a small amount of shaved zucchini and baked it separately for me. No noodles. It was also fantastic. I did add garlic salt to the meat while it was cooking other than that it was great as written.

It was way too dry. Hard to eat alone. Dipped it in yogurt sauce from this site. Helped it tremendously. Disappointed. I wanted to really like it. .

Chicken Breasts with Herb Basting Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2014
This was quite good. Used bone in breasts and cooked for a little over an hour. The sauce was fantastic and there was plenty to go around. I'd make it again. The only thing I did differently was omit the marjoram because I was out. Yummy and very juicy.
