Too many chefs
About this Cook
I work in retail and from time to time have little amount of time to make healthy meal choices as I am also a new cook (recently removed from mom). So now I am on my own I am experimenting with all my cooking to find the style that is right for me (preferably not burnt). I love looking in magazines and online for that special recipe. I also like to play on POGO.com as I am a member. Love to watch movies, tv, and radio programs.
My favorite things to cook
I love to eat and make anything Italian, but have recently gone more into Mexican and Oriental cooking. I have no problem with taking a food I like and trying to cook it in a different setting example salsa in a main course Oriental style. My boyfriend and I have created several recipes and have tested them on friends and family with much success.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Creating new things with various foods we have on hand or whatever we can mix with a single food item to bring out its flavor and meet the style of food we are craving that night for dinner.
My cooking triumphs
Just got my first Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer. I look forward to using it in as many recipes as possible.
My cooking tragedies
I rent an apartment and have a not so good stove/oven and it doesn't always allow me to cook things the way I want them. I am branching out to other methods of cooking to combat this to make my food come out delicious every time.

Asparagus Parmesan
Really creamy. I made this for Easter dinner I put the Olive Oil over the asparagus and added some Parmesan cheese. When it was done and came out of oven I added a little more Parmesan cheese then plated to dining table. Everyone loved it! Husband said it tasted similar to endive. He ate the most of it! I will definitely make this again.

Biscuit Baking Mix
This is an awesome recipe! I was looking for something to help save money and time and this is it. I have already used this twice today in two meals that I made. The first is the Easy Quiche and then with dinner I made two different versions of the biscuits following reviewers added ingredients to this mix - one for regular biscuits and one for cheddar biscuits (tried both versions of this with and without the added garlic powder and Italian seasoning, just added the cheese) I used Colby Jack cheese as that was only cheese on hand. But on cheese versions I did use the garlic salt and butter wash after it was done cooking. Would like to see better measurements on that so not to make it too salty. Otherwise very delicious! I will make more of this mix and store in my refrigerator freezer and in big freezer for emergency, lol!! :)

Easy Quiche
I just made this today and it was delicious! I used the biscuit baking mix from this website and I didn't have any broccoli on hand so I substituted with green onions instead. It came out great and was a great use of leftover Easter ham. I cut up the leftovers into squares and put into plastic bags to reheat up and eat tomorrow for breakfast. This was my first quiche, I look forward to making this again with other veggies too.
