I mostly cook for my husband and myself, or for a small group of friends. While I've always cooked quick and easy "mess meals" growing up, it's only in the last couple years that I've gotten really interested in gourmet and well-presented meals.
My favorite things to cook
I have a weakness for a good medium steak, a salty buttery baked potato, and equal-sized helpings of mashed potatoes and green beans. I am killer at that meal, plus I make a mean steak & eggs and excellent chili and pasta sauce. Pretty much anything with meat and tomatoes, I've got on lock. My pot roast always turn out great, too.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom used to make everything in the crockpot, a tradition we're trying to carry on in our new home. My grandmothers are both great dessert people (one is a cookie queen and one is a pie master) and my dad makes masterpiece eggs. My husband's family is German, and every single one of them cooks beautifully.
