My Crab Cakes

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2011
Well, it was my first time making crab cakes. I did read other reviews - especially the bad ones and I am glad I did. Yes, I had to cut back on crumbs and increase the quantity of crab as explained by bad reviews. Also, the flavor was very bland and I thought it needed more spice/heat - but then, my family eats very spicy food. Overall they were fine, but not great. Also, don't replace panko bread crumbs with regular ones....panko gives the best crunch!!

Simple and good. I have made it a few times, and everytime, I change the type of cheese!! I actually use blend of different cheeses, it tastes much better...

Red Velvet Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2009
Wonderful Cake...stole the show at my Christmas Dinner. The color was wonderful and with that white contrast it looked great....and it also tasted great :) I was worried about bitter aftertaste due to the amount of food color, but there was none. I was out of cocoa powder so I used milk chocolate instead....didn't seem to matter much. Will make it again.

Spanakopita (Greek Spinach Pie)

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2009
My guests could not stop eating them and talking about them!! Amazing. I actually made little triangles with the phyllo dough instead of big pie. They looked prettier and looked more like finger food or appetizer. Will make it anyday again and again....

Jalapeno Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2009
Veryy Good!!! I loved the kick of jalapeno at the end..... Couple of tips...use a big pan, the sugar syrup bubbles a lot and will over flow. It requires more than 10 minutes (roughly 30 mintes) to cook down. Also I used a potato masher at the end to break down the cranberries - gave a very nice texture.

Classic Hollandaise Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2009
The recipe came out really good for me. I love Hollandaise sauce and never knew how to make it, and it ofcourse goes with my Atkins diet!! Yes, the person made a mistake in typing the salt-pepper amounts....but it is common sense...all of us make mistakes in typing. That should not be a criteria for rating the recipe. On the other hand, I am glad the person took the time and effort to share this recipe with all of us. Thanks!!!

White Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2008
Simply delicious. I can't stop eating them, will surely make some more. I used light brown sugar (that's what I had) and they came out very light in color...I didn't like it so next time I will stick with the regular brown sugar! Thanks for sharing.

Quick Sesame Green Beans

Very tasty!! I loved it....I sauteed the beans in butter, instead of steaming. That was even quicker and I personally like the bite of beans!

Paper Salmon

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2007
Wonderful and extremely simple. I added my own touch by adding salt, pepper, red potatoes and freshly grated parmesan while baking! Potatoes make a great side dish as they absorb the flavor of the fish..try it!
