About this Cook
I'm a mom to three kids with huge age gaps so it can be a challenge to find something that everyone likes. I like to plan my meals every week and stick to the plan as much as possible. Things go better that way and I tend to cook more instead of reaching for take-out.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook almost everything and I will try almost anything. I'm not a great baker but I can throw down fried chicken and lasagne with the best of them!
My favorite family cooking traditions
The big holiday meals mean lots of food. The day after Thanksgiving we shut ourselves in the house to watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy (extended version!) and we eat leftovers from the day before.
My cooking triumphs
Mastering fried chicken was a big triumph for me.
My cooking tragedies
I've had a few...mostly they've involved broccoli.

Pork Chops with Dill Pickle Marinade
This was good but I'm only giving it 3 stars since it's not actual cooking or prepping of any sort...

Teriyaki Sauce
This was okay. I tasted it after mixing it and decided it needed about 2 Tbsp Sucanat, 3 Tbsp. rice wine vinegar, and 1/3 cup pineapple juice. Then it was juuuuuuust about perfect.

Baked Macaroni and Cheese I
It was all right. Fairly bland. Of course, I did use 16 oz. of pasta, not 8. Still, next time I will definitely season it up a bit! And I like it not as saucy as it would have been had I used 8 oz. of pasta.
