About this Cook
My love for cooking sprouted from living in a big family. Being the eldest daughter I took it upon myself to cook healthy exciting meals for everyone. Now I cook for just me and my fiance, quite a change from cooking for 10! I try my hardest to make every meal enjoyable, one of the best feelings come from seeing people happily eating.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking soups the most. Hardy stews on a cold night to brothy chicken noodle soup for the sick. Also nice homemade bread and buns to go along side. But mostly I will try to cook anything be it a one dish meal or a 3 course dinner.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Taco night. Everyone gets in the kitchen, chopping and frying and in 20 minutes we are all having a delicious feast.
My cooking triumphs
Making my very own sourdough bread with no yeasts or sugar. Just flour water and salt. Delicious.

Herb Buttermilk Biscuits
Yum, great with a hearty stew on those cold nights! Its important to know that the kelp is instead of salt. It really just gives it a richer, and slightly salty flavour but these would be good with a pinch of salt as well. The kelp just adds extra minerals and iron.

Spicy Lamb Patties
These were good but I did make a few changes. First I used a fresh green chili pepper instead of the dried chili flakes and it gave it a nice, subtle heat. I added an egg to help hold everything together. Also instead of the curry powder I added paprika, adding a nice smoky flavor. I added 2 minced mushrooms as well because they needed to be used and they give the patties a nice texture and I think they helped keep them moist on the inside. I served these with couscous with toasted pine nuts and I wilted some spinach and cabbage in the pan I cooked the patties in and it gave the greens a really nice flavor.

Mediterranean Vegetable Stew
This was soo good. I made sure to add zucchini from my garden as well as some spinach. This was best served over couscous.
