Buffalo Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2009
I made this in advance for super bowl but my husband and adult children wanted to have it for super that night because it smelt so good and the taste was even greater. I did not alter one thing, I will warn you that it is hot but that was why I wanted to make it in the first place and it didn't let me down.

Maple Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2009
I followed the recipe but was disappointed. It probably is very good if you like sweet cranberry sauce, I like a little tartness to my cranberry sauce. My family did not like the sauce.

Foolproof Rib Roast

Reviewed: May 26, 2008
I have to thank the person for sharing their foolproof recipe and everyone who sends in their reviews. I made this roast following the instructions as they are and everyone of my guests (18) keep talking about how great my prime rib roast was so tender. Thanks for making me look good. This method is the best.

Butter Pound Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2008
This cake was perfect. There is no need to change one thing. I followed the recipe exactly and it was great. It is a very moist cake. I made a lemon glaze to go over the top.

Red Cabbage and Apples

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2009
I have been trying to find the recipe that is the same as my late mother-in-law's. The only thing I did different was I remembered a bay leaf was added to the pot while the cabbage was cooking and then removed near the end. This is perfect with goose, duck or poulty.

Creamy Tomato-Basil Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2009
I made this soup for a friend coming for lunch and we both truly enjoyed the flavour. I used a can of tomatoes to cut my time. I pureed the soup, but I didn't stain it so that it would be more heartier. Will make again and again.

Merritt's Butternut Squash Gratin

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
I made this dish for our Christmas dinner and it was a huge success. I didn't have fresh Tyme or Rosemary so what I did was added 1-l/2 tsp of Herb de Province which has Tyme & Rosemary included, plus I had my sister who is celiac, therefore, I had to use rice crackers crushed. The topping was so delicious that I would use it on other casseroles that call for a crumb topping or corn flake topping just to dress up the dish.

Lemon Pepper Green Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2008
My family totally loved the beans done this way. It really takes the bordem out of beans and dresses them up. I followed the recipe, but cut back on the lemon pepper to 1 tsp.and decided near the end to add chopped roasted red peppers for more colour. You can buy peppers already prepared in a jar in the grocery stores. This is a keeper.

Mango Chutney

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2009
I have been looking for a great Mango chutney recipe, now I can stop looking. I downsized the recipe to 60 and used 15 min. for step 1 and step 2 when adding the mango's I cooked them for about 35 mins. After reading everyone's comments, I reduced the sugar to 1 cup of white and 1 cup of brown and added 6 cups of mango. This is a keeper!

Spicy Bean Salsa

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2008
Took the advice of the reviewed comments and substituted the dressing with lemon juice, olive oil, salt, pepper and garlic. I couldn't find black eyed peas so I just omitted them and left everything else the same. I happened to make this just to try for my family. That same day I was going to a party my sister phoned and asked if I had any salsa on hand, I said it just so happens I do, but it needs to rest for 8 hrs. Well we had it and it was great already, I'm sure time will make it even more delicious. I'll be making this for the Super Bowl.

Chicken Florentine Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
This recipe is so good and easy to make. I was in a hurry, therefore, I sauted the chicken on top of the stove. I didn't have spinach so I used green beans that I cooked for 10 min. I followed the recipe and we all enjoyed it served on top of rice. This was a very nice change to cook chicken.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
Very good and simple, I sauted green peppers and onions in a frying pan to add to the meat and it was delicious. I am going to make it using beef rump roast today and I'm sure it will be delicious also.

Grandma's Polish Perogies

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2008
Grandma's perogies are great. I use to make these years ago, but was frustrated with the noodle drying out so fast. This method is the best for rolling and not drying out so quick. I used Bacon, onion and cheddar cheese in my mashed potatoes and the family loved them. You can be sure I'll make these more often.
