Oh my this really is a very good, easy and versatile recipe. I followed alot of the posted advice and grated a carrot in with the broccoli and added a quart jar of home canned potatoes. I also used a pound of velveeta and a bit less than a half pound of sharp cheddar. I used this amount of cheese while I used 1 1/2 times the other ingredients. Just now realized I forgot to 1 1/2 times the cheese and so glad I didn't it was perfect. I also added some fresh basil and sage. We ate this with pumpernickel bread cause we love it. My husband, three kids and a neighbor kid all cleaned it right up. I do want to add that if you didn't already know, the butter and flour mixture is a FANTASTIC base and you can make most any cream soup with it. Use it and master it-it makes a great clam chowder. Fantasatic!
