Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2012
Excellent recipe. The ketchup glaze is very good. I double the recipe so I can freeze one.

President Ford's Braised Eye Round Steak

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
This is wonderful, even my 2-year-old loves it. It's in regular rotation at our house. We slice the beef thinly and serve it on whole wheat wraps with spinach, sweet peppers or zucchini. And, of course, shredded mozzarella cheese. A few tips: My onions fall apart when I cook them that long, so I usually keep most of them on the side and add them back in close to the end. Mushy onions aren't great in wraps. Add mushrooms for more depth. Keep them in with the onions. You can shorten the cooking time a bit if you slice the meat beforehand. Just be careful that you do not overcook, as it will dry out.

Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
This is incredible. Truly. So easy to make and so simple, yet they look beautiful and taste even better. I used 5 stalks of asparagus each and wrapped the proscuitto on an angle so the whole length was covered. Did not blanch first, just made as directed. I brought it to a dinner and they were devoured. Thanks!

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
Tasty. I made it as directed, except I used pork chops, subbed brown sugar for the white, and added a cubed Delicata squash. It was good, but I think next time I will use less vinegar and less sugar, and increase the seasonings. But my husband absolutely loved it as it was. The squash was a nice addition; it is naturally sweet so it meshed very well.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2009
I did not think this was that good. The sauce was too gooey and fake tasting, and it was pretty salty. I had never had chicken and dumplings before, so maybe it's just that I'm not a big fan of the dish itself. Sorry!

Pork Chops 'n' Pierogies

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2009
Seemed like a weird mix of ingredientsm but I'm a big believer in dishes with 4+ stars, so I tried it... glad I did! I had 2 boxes of pierogies and only one leftover pork chop, so I diced the chop and tossed it in with the sauce. I also used brown sugar instead of white. Very good!

Campbell's® Tuna Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2008
We really liked this recipe. I added frozen zucchini and spinach to give some extra nutrition. The spinach didn't affect the flavor too much, might be a good way to trick kids into eating more veggies. Just the thing for a winter's night after work when you're too tired to stand in front of the stove. Just throw the ingredients in there, stir it and pop it in the oven.

Lemon Carrots and Rutabaga

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2008
I served this at a dinner party and my guests went from "What the hell's a rutabaga?" to "WOW, this is AMAZING!" 5 out of 6 people took seconds - and thirds. The glaze is not lemony, exactly; the acidity just serves to round out the sweetness of the brown sugar. It really brings together the rutabaga and carrot flavors into more than the sum of it's parts. Just a great recipe and crowd-pleaser.

Strange Flavor Eggplant Spread

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2007
LEAVE OUT THE BROWN SUGAR!! When I copied down the recipe, I forgot the brown sugar, and it came out wonderfully. The second time I made it, I did put in the brown sugar and did not like it as much. My friends and husband didn't like it sweetened either. But without the sugar it is fabulous and chic! A really nice, flavorful, asian-inspired dip that will really impress everyone, even people who are not into eggplant.

California Roll Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2007
I nixed the rice and just made a regular lettuce salad instead. The dressing is really good; I make it often and keep it in the fridge to have on weeknights. I served this at a party and so many people came up to me to rave about the dressing. Highly recommended.

Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2007
Best ribs we've ever had! I made them for the fourth of July and everyone loved them. They were literally falling off the bone. I made my own teriyaki BBQ sauce: 1 cup ketchup, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup soy sauce; 1 tbs ginger powder, 1.5 tbs garlic from a jar (or 1 tbs powdered garlic). Fabulous!
