Lori's Famous Crab Cakes

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2012
I made this exactly as stated and they were delicious!! The only thing I would change in the future, as a previous reviewer already stated, is that I would saute the veggies first to get them softer. I wasn't a fan of the "crunch" in these crab cakes but it's an easy fix. They are very zesty and tasty. I will make again with the softer veggies and update in the future!

Three Cheese Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2011
I made this recipe exactly as stated and it came out wonderfully! I'm not big on ground meats so this recipe peaked my interest. I used Ragu sauce because that's my favorite. I also added pepperonis to the top because I was afraid my fiance would miss the meat. He LOVED it! I might double the sauce next time because after sitting for a few days and reheating it was starting to get a little dry.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2011
These have become my staple Christmas cookie. I've never had a better chocolate chip cookie!! I make these every year! The pudding really helps keep them soft...which I like. If you are looking for a crispy/crunchy chocolate chip cookie...these are not for you.

Easy Spiced Brown Rice With Corn

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2011
This was pretty good! I doubled the recipe because I didn't believe that only 1 cup of rice would have been enough for 2 people (I was wrong). It was more than enough! The only thing was I think it could have done without the cilantro...maybe that is just my personal taste, though. I also used vegetable broth instead of water as some others have suggested.

Lemon Garlic Tilapia

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2011
I made this for dinner tonight. It was only my second time making fish but it turned out much better than the last! I used frozen tilapia filets and it was still finished cooking in the time stated. I also used 2 lemons because I had to seperate the filets into 2 different dishes. I wasn't really sure how much juice you get out of one lemon and I was in a hurry. It was very lemony. Sometimes I got a bite that was a bit too lemony so I wouldn't advise using that much lemon. Other than eyeballing the lemon, I followed the recipe to a "T" and it turned out pretty good! My fiance really enjoyed it!

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2010
I've been making this for over a year now. I make it exactly as stated (except that I use ground turkey to make it a tad heathier). It's absolutely delicious! People always ask me what's in it that makes it different...I always tell them that it's the sour cream! They can't get over it!!! Thanks for a great recipe, Colleen!!!

Spicy Seafood Shell Appetizers

Reviewed: May 26, 2009
This was very good but there was something off about them. I had to eat a few before I figured out what it was...the canned shrimp. I'll never use canned shrimp again!!

Easy Deviled Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2009
This chicken was really good. It was the first time I ever made any kind of breaded chicken and I was pleased with the results. However, I didn't think you could taste the mustard very much but I used regular yellow. Next time I will try a spicy mustard.

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2009
These were the best au gratin potatoes I ever had! I made them almost exactly as directed except for cutting the onion in small pieces and adding some more cheese. It was a lot for 2 people but we ate the leftovers too!

Salsa Chicken Burrito Filling

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2008
I was really nervous about making this because of all the reviews and suggestions about changes. It was really good, though! I sent my fiance to the store and of course he came back with an 8 oz can of tomato sauce and medium salsa. I used all 8 oz because I hate to waste and skipped the salsa because I was afraid medium would make it too spicy. I used half the packet of taco seasoning as well but I think the whole thing would have been fine. I also baked the chicken in the oven first, shredded it, then threw all the ingredients together for about 15-20 mins.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2008
I made this back in May I believe and I forgot to review it! I love love love Pork BBQ and this really hit the spot. I cooked the pork in the slow cooker in the broth for about 8 hours, then drained almost all of it except for a little bit to keep some of the flavor, dumped in the bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's towards the end and it was great by the time my fiance got home from work! We got great Kaiser rolls from the deli and toasted them under the broiler too which added a little bit of a crunch. Really good!

Broccoli Chicken Casserole I

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2008
I made this last week and I couldn't stop saying, "Mmmm!" I followed others suggestions as well adding a can of cream of chicken, about 1/2 cup of milk and another cup of stuffing, more cheese, and some garlic powder. I really love Stove Top so that's why I used more. Tip: Get the new Steamers that are out by Green Giant I believe...took out the whole step of steaming the broccoli...just threw it in the microwave!

Butterfly Honey Pork Fillets

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2007
Delicious! I also took the suggestions of using 1/2 worchestire and 1/2 soy sauce. I used thin cut pork chops but next time I will use a thicker cut. Very very good!

Kat's Alfredo Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2007
These were very very good. I used one of the other suggestions of using 6 potatoes and cutting the milk in half because I used an 8x8 dish. I also added garlic powder and used pizza cheese instead of swiss. The only thing is next time I'd let them bake a lot longer. They weren't as tender as I would have liked.

Pork Chops with Blue Cheese Gravy

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2007
I made this recipe along with egg noodles. We put the gravy over our pork chops and the noodles. The gravy was very good but my pork chops came out dry. I would make it again though.

Creamy Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2007
My family and I love this recipe! I make it often and even look forward to the leftovers! Sometimes I use leftover chicken or more recently I bought a rotisserie chicken from the store and used that. I shred the chicken rather than cubing it also. Delicious!
