World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2008
This is a wonderful sauce. I did however, add just a little bit more garlic than 2 cloves...like 3 heads more. And that was perfect. Fennel makes it. Don't leave it out.

Wild Rice Stuffing for Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
Raves all 'round. Was told this was the best stuffing all of my guests had ever had. Only change was to add some red bell pepper in with the green for color. Thank you so much for this recipe!!!

I've made this recipe twice now and both times I've been asked for the recipe. It's really a great dip! Changes I made: I used 8 oz of sour cream and 8 oz cream cheese I used 3 whole garlic gloves, minced I used a dash or two of lemon juice I always sprinkle romano, parmesan, and a touch of mozzarella on top

Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2008
This recipe has quickly become a household (and "neighborhood") favorite among friends and family. And, in fact, is the #1 request for cookies in my house. The only modification I make is to substitute 1/2 the chocolate chips for peanut butter chips. Excellent!

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2008
I made this for an impromptu dinner party and it was so scrumptious my guests were scrambling to get the last morsels. Changes I made: Reduced mayo by 1/2 and then added 1 part cream cheese and 1 part sour cream; I added 3 cloves minced garlic and about 1/2 c chopped spinach; I sauted the garlic, spinach, and artichoke hearts prior to baking; I used a 3-cheese blend of fresh parmesan, asiago, and romano cheeses. Served on a bed of long grain brown rice cooked in chicken broth and with roasted broccoli, cauliflower, and red peppers.

Bake Sale Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
I'm giving gourmetmommy's edition a 5 as I prefer more tart (and this is definitely the tartiest of the tart) than sweet in my lemon bars. This was a great recipe!

Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2008
Delicious! I made this for the first time tonight as an experiment before taking to a work function later in the week. Rave reviews from my 3 guinea pigs and a definite recipe box keeper. Only adjustment - I added 2T flour to adjust for altitude. Yum.

Chicken Paprikash I

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2008
I loved it, my partner wasn't crazy about it. Definitely use the good paprika and double up on the sauce. The original recipe wasn't saucy enough.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2008
Lovely recipe and very easy and quick. Modifications: 1 can of chicken broth instead of adding water; cut onion in half and added minced garlic; seasoned with black pepper only; just before adding biscuit dough I shredded the chicken (SO juicy and tender it fell apart on the fork) and threw in a package of frozen mixed veggies; biscuit dough most definitely needs at least 90 minutes although for this first time out I shredded the dough as the recipe called for and think it would have been a 5-star had I done the traditional flat strips. As it was the flavor was excellent but the hunk o' biscuits were just really too much. I used one can of Pillsbury Grands (all the tiny grocery had). Edited to add: Oh yes, I work 10-hour days and so I had my partner start this up when he left for work. Cooking time on low was about 8 hours and 2 additional hours on high after the extras were added.
