Grilled Garlic Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2007
This recipe needs a lot more of something to give it some real flavor. I was pretty disappointed in it considering there are hundreds of potato recipes that are just as easy and taste much better.

Sweet Grilled Corn

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2007
Fantastic. Great taste. Great because you can make it ahead before your company arrives. Good with any meat grilled. I even used the cheap canned parmesean I had on hand and it was fantastic (with EV Oil). Have made 3 times now and company always wants the recipe. It's the only way I'm going to grill my corn from now on.

Greeked Zucchini

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2007
I made this without the tomatoes (because I didn't have any on hand) and threw in some mushrooms (ecause they had to be used up) and it was still very good. I'm sure the tomatoes will make it even better. I'm also going to try one of the suggestion of adding some rosemary. I agree about increasing the portions of onions and feta (but not the green peppers)

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: May 14, 2008
I've been making this recipe for years, having gotten it from my mom. I don't change a thing and can't imagine why anyone would want to. It has never failed to receive rave reviews and my guests think I spent hours in the kitchen. There is so much flavor that it needs to be served with a simple salad with a light tasting dressing like Newman's olive oil & vinegar, and some fresh asparagus and yum, yum, yummo. I've used the powdered parmesean in a pinch and it's still good. If you're needing all that change, perhaps it's your choice of mayonnaise. The salt/pepper should go directly on the chicken before pouring over the topping.

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2008
I have been using the base recipe of the Lipton Onion Soup Mix box for years, but with some varioations I've picked up. This one is just right. The butter round crackers is the perfect addition. Sometimes I use 1 lb sausage and 1 lb hamburger to spice it up a little more. I love the suggestion of adding bread on the bottom to soak up the grease.

Grilled Peanut Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2008
Both my husband and I absolutely loved it!! Exceptionally quick, easy, and tasty. I made this as is, except to use water to thin out the sauce. Will try next time adding some peanuts maybe. Used other reviews and served with thai noodles and slaw. Perfect, perfect, perfect!!!

Asian Coleslaw

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2008
Great taste. Used broccoli slaw for ease, and put the peppers, carrots, green onions into my mini food chopper before adding. Kept the cilantro too. This made the recipe an easy one for a weeknight. Definitely needs only half of the dressing. Wasn't flat or wilted for leftovers with the broccoli slaw.

Sesame Noodles

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2008
This was supurb! Made exactly as written. It makes a LOT, so will probably use half the recipe next time. Served with the Grilled Peanut Chicken and Asian Coleslaw from this website. All 3 were prepared and ready to serve within an hour or so. That's a winner in my book if I can make it as a weeknight meal resulting in very desirable leftovers.

Original Homemade Italian Beef

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
So easy!! Very good. I didn't as much of the italian dressing packets as it called for just because I didn't buy enough at the store; I definitely will next time. Love the peppers at the end and will add some of the juice next time (not knowing if I wanted it or not this time). Wouldn't change a thing.

Orange Roughy Parmesan

My husband loved it, and I should have but can't seem to enjoy fish I cook at home. This one still had a little fishy taste which ruins it for me.

Dill Pickle Appetizers

Tasted like pickels in cream cheese and that's all. Wasn't a bad tasted, but prefer a little more "wow" to the flavors of my foods. Won't make again.

Beef Stroganoff III

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
Excellent with the changes suggested by others. I did not marinate the beef but add the amount of wine using red; Used 1 big yellow onion instead of green; Add 1 TBSP minced garlic and 1 TBSP worchestershire; Add 2 TBSP cornstarch to beef broth before adding meat back to pan; simmer 1 hour; add 1/3 c. cream cheese and 1/3 c. sour cream at the end

Mom's Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
This is excellent; have made it 3 times now. My changes: Add chives to potatoes (and I like LOTS of potatoes on top); add garlic, Onion Soup Mix, 1/2 can beef broth, and beer. Simmer for about an hour. Shredded cheee on top. Can use tomato soup instead of sauce (I was in a out of the tom. sauce but decided I loved the flavor of tom. soup in this one).

Italian Sausage with Farfalle and Broccoli Rabe

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2009
I've made this only once, but will make again! Both hubby and I loved it. The cheese does turn into a globby mess and the sauce doesn't thicken like most sauces, so I added corn starch to thicken and mix better. Have patience, it thickens when added to the al dente pasta (picking up on starch from that). Used regular broccoli because I couldn't find Broccoli Rabe (and still don't know what that is). Didn't have red pepper flakes so used Cayenne pepper (just a tiny bit). Used fresh broccoli (don't like frozen) and suggest putting it in only 1-2 min before adding the pasta (mine was overdone by the time it was served). I didn't add mushrooms, but will next time. Excellent recipe!!

Seafood Stuffed Avocados

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
When I tasted just the seafood salad, I thought something wasn't quite right and probably wouldn't be making again; however, the avacado put all of the flavors in perfect order. Used fake crab only but otherwise made recipe as is. Served with "Easy Asparagus" and a thick steak au poivre. My husband actually requested that we invite company for dinner just so I can make it all again.

Easy Asparagus

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
Fantastic! Made it just as is but without the crackers. Used a whole "bunch" of asparagus with the amounts for 2 servings and found it to be perfect. Wouldn't change a thing (except that the crackers really are unnecessary). Served with "steak au poivre" and was a great balance of flavors.

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2009
I made this as directed, except to reduce the soy sauce (because I didn't have low sodium kind) and probably added a little more garlic ... but otherwise as directed. It was fabulous! Wouldn't change a thing. Put in a frozen tenderloin straight from the deep freeze in the morning, mixed all of the flavors, poured on top, set it to low, and when I got home 8.5 hrs later, it was pull-apart tender. I added corn starch to thicken, then pulled it all apart with a large spoon, and mixed it all up with the sauce. Delish!! Doesn't make a pretty picture that way, but sure is good.

Fantastic exactly as recipe says. Light, great summer salad. Served with chicken salad sandwiches and iced tea. Doesn't get any better than that.
