Slow Cooker Cilantro Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2012
This is great!! Fast, easy, kid friendly, budget friendly. Everyone loved it. On advice from another review, I added a small can of MILD green chilis, corn, and black beans. Mixed in the corn and black beans after shredding chicken. Served over boxed Spanish rice. It's a keeper.

Just okay. There are better flavored recipes that I would make before this one.

Lemon-Broccoli Rice with Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2012
This was just okay. It needed more seasoning like thyme, poultry seasoning, something. Hubby did not like the Philadelphia cooking cream taste. Won't be making this again.

Chicken a la King I

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2011
Made as directed except used chicken stock in place of water. Bland until I added a lot more salt and pepper, plus a pinch of spice from Penzy's called Balti. Very good weeknight meal with leftovers for lunches the next day.

Zucchini 'Noodles'

Made this with Chicken Marsala (also on this site). Needs no changes at all, but will say be careful with the garlic. A little less is better than a little more in this instance.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff II

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2011
Made this with some suggested changes ... used 1 cup sherry and 1/3 cup worchestershire broth in place of some of the water. Used beef broth for rest of the water to equal 2.5 cups total. I love the blended flavors and oh so tender meat after cooking all day in the crockpot much better than a stovetop version. Had to add some cornstarch/water treatment to thicken it up in the end.

I made this exactly as instructed and it was fantastic, except for some extra fresh mushrooms. Seriously, no need to change anything.

I cut the ginger in half the next time I made this and it was perfect. In fact, I've made it several times now and almost everyone loves it.

LOVE this served with any grilled meat which seems to really bring out the best in this recipe. I used tons more fresh basil though.

Hawaiian Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2010
I'm giving this a 4 because of the difficulty with preparation and my opinion of taste. I thought they were okay in taste but everyone else at the party thought they were fantastic. One person took them home to her son who said "I want to shake the hand of the person who made these." Won't make again for myself but will recommend to others. Made receipe exactly as directed except I had to double the corn starch and eggs.

Pumpkin Risotto

Made as written. Excellent side dish. Didn't taste too much pumpkin but definitely a different taste than plain risotto. Was a perfect side dish to pork roast.

Swiss Chicken Casserole II

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
Absolutely a keeper with the suggested changes of other reviews. I used white wine for milk; added frozen carrots & broccoli (to make it a one-dish meal); seasoned the chicken with lemon pepper and garlic and cooked about half done; placed half of stuffing on bottom and half on top. Definitely wanted 2nds on this one. Cut chicken breasts in half, next time will cut into 1" pieces as another review suggested because my chicken wasn't moist enough for my taste.

Fantastic exactly as recipe says. Light, great summer salad. Served with chicken salad sandwiches and iced tea. Doesn't get any better than that.
