Campbell's Baked Chicken and Broccoli

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2008
I have been making this recipe forever. I sometimes alternate the mushroom for cream of chicken soup. I also add garlic, onions and dash to the casserole and cook it at 325 for 2 hours. This chicken can also be served with egg noodles.

Apple Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2011
Very good apple pie and I have been making pies for 30 years. I omitted the ginger by choice and cooked it at 375 for 35min at which time it was golden brown and cooked. The sides were getting dark. Cooking time in different ovens often differ, therefore, it did not require the extra 10min at 400. A little tip to pass on to others. Letting it cool completely prevents this pie or any type of fruit pie to become watery. Five star is well deserved.

Chocolate Buttermilk Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2011
Texture is moist and fluffy, not at all dense as a true brownie would be, and taste is wonderful. Icing is delicious but very sweet and that is rare for me. Baking with buttermilk always gives such a moist, wonderful texture. Will definitely make it again. My husband and son could not get enough of it. Simple to make with ingredients readily available at home and for once, I followed the instructions as given. I did baked it in a 9x13inch pan as I did not have a 15x10 in, and for 23min and it was perfect To me this is definitely a cake though and not a brownie and that's fine with us, so thank you for what will be a regular cake desert in my home. It can be easily rated as a five star.

Gingerbread Men

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2007
This recipe is everything you said it would be. Easiest gingerbread people I have made in 35 years. The dough is simple to make, easy to roll and cookies delicious and soft. I cooked mine on a parchment paper covered pan for 8 min. They are mild tasting and my family, including myself, love them. It's a keeper. Thanks Kim

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2012
Fabulous. Better than mine. I added brown sugar instead of white, 1/4 cup water instead of 1/2 and a little nutmeg as well as the cinnamon. 1/2 cup of water would have been fine. It would have mixed well with the brown sugar and given more syrup. Next time I will follow the appropriate amt of water. Served with vanilla ice cream but was great without. On a scale of 1 to 10, my family gave this a 15. Wonderful, thanks for sharing.

Pork Roast With The World's Best Pork Loin Rub

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2012
Very nice. Bit like a porketta. Cut down a bit on the cayenne and had no cumin. Will incorporate some oil next time, cut down on the brown sugar by half and use it to baste my meat on the bbq. Thanks for sharing. I have added this one to my favorites and will use it again with chicken or chops.

Welfare Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2012
Considering the ingrediences in this cake, I found it to be wonderfully moist, dense and of a good chocolate flavor. It is nice to find an old fashion desert that requires ingrediences that are readily available at any time. Great desert for low fat, no cholesterol diets. Thanks for sharing.

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2011
These truffles are absolutely sinful. However, for some reason, the coating did not get firm even after being in the refrigerator overnight. I have used chocolate coatings for many years on numerous truffles and cookies and bars and this is the first time I run into this problem. I am not worried about having them left over regardless of the softer coating. They are wonderful. I will try it again with chocolate and parowax. I'm sure that will do the trick. Thanks for this wonderful recipe.

Kristin's Fudgy Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2011
Not bad but not what I expected from the reviews. The texture was cake like, not strong enough in chocolate and not sweet enough for my taste. My husband liked it but found it had an after taste of something we can't put our finger on. It is a pleasant desert with icing or ice cream, but only fair on it's own. Will probably not make this again.

MMMMM... Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2011
It's no wonder there are so many five star reviews. Everyday ingredients, prepared in 10 min and all in one pot. I ligned my pan with a foil and sprayed it with pam. After baking, just lifted foil and Voila, done. Fabulous chocolate taste and moist texture. I have been making brownies and such for 40years and t this is #1 on my favorites from now on. All I got from my husband and sons was "Oh man that's good" As for me, well, it's my fourth piece in 15 min. Thanks for sharing.

Tomato Basil Penne Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2010
Delicious pasta, and we experiment with pasta frequently. Everyone cooks in this family. Used feta cheese instead of pepperjack. I made a big woops. I made to much pasta for the amount of cheese. Next time I will either make less pasta or double the cheese. Definitely a five star.

Southern Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2008
Delicious. My mother made this recipe for years and I, along with my sisters continued the tradition. Now, my daughter-in-law uses the same recipe. The only difference is that we dip the chicken in eggs and milk first and then add garlic powder and onion salt to the flour. We prepare it and refrigerate on wax pappered pan for about one hour before frying. I also use canola oil instead of vegetable oil. Much healthier. Thanks for sharing.

Can't Tell They're Low-fat Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2012
When you are a restricted diet and a brownie this good comes along, you are grateful. Although I made a few changes by necessity, I feel it is a definite 5star. Replaced egg with eggbeater, pureed prune with a banana and cut sugar to 3/4cup. Added a little cayenne for good measure. Although it remains thin, the texture is dense but moist. The secret to that is decreasing the cook time to 20 minutes or so. Thanks so much. Nice desert after a meal. Kamal

Peanut Banana Muffins

Reviewed: May 21, 2012
These muffins are great, but because of the changes I gave it a three star. Used egg white instead of whole egg, added 1tbsp cocoa powder, cinnamon and nutmeg and had no peanut chips. That would make the whole recipe different. I will make it again as written. The basic ingredients did however assure these muffins to be moist and rise quite nicely. I don't usually rate a recipe with so many changes, but wanted to make you aware that the basic ingredients and the amount required were perfect. All in all, these muffins were very good.

Grilled Portobellos Sauteed in Wine

Reviewed: May 18, 2012
Definite five star. I used a delicious red wine from the nights before, it was wonderful. If the wine is good, the mushroom will be as well. For presentation, remember that white wine will not change the color of the mushrooms as the red wil darkened them a bit. This was simple and all done on the BBQ. Will make it again Thanks for sharing

Chocolate Frosting II

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2012
Very nice. Sweet with the just the right taste of chocolate. Did not add the coffee as I did not have any instant granules. Was a little soft, but maybe it was because I cut the recipe in half. Was perfect for 9x5 vegan cake. Thank you for sharing.

Vegan Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2012
Deliciousssssss. Did not give it less than 5 stars, even with the few little changes. Used canola instead of vegetable oil (healthier) and added a dash of cayenne. I think next time, I will add a banana or possibly another sweet fruit. Cooked for 35 min only. Was well cooked Thanks for the wonderful recipe expecially since I am so restricted as far as ingrediences are concerned.

Banana Oatmeal Cookies III

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2012
Delicious cookies. For health concerns, I had to substitute the shortening for becel olive oil margarine and the egg for "egg creation" liquid egg white, but it worked out perfectly. I did add chocolate chips and 1tsp cocoa for my chocolate craving but I'm sure they would have been delightful without it. The texture is soft and yes cake like, but I like them this way. A perfect little desert. My baking time was 10min but then again my oven is not new and tends to bake a little hotter. I gave it 4 stars because of the changes, but a definite 5 stars for taste. Thanks so much.
