Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2011
The best apple pie Ive had in a long time! I followed the advice of others and tossed the apples in cinnamon before putting into the pie crust. I also just did a double pie crust instead of a lattice crust. Very tasty and easy pie to make!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2011
I followed the advice of others and added cinnamon to the apples. I also made a double pie crust adding the sauce to the apples before I put the top crust on. It was absolutely delicious!

Parmesan Crusted Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2011
Chicken was very tender but lacked flavor. Super easy to make but not high up on my familys favorite.

Brisket with BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
This was MY first time at making brisket. I had 10 people coming for dinner so I bought an 11 lb. brisket. I followed the recipe exactly plus took the advice of others to double to barbeque sauce. This brisket was phenomenal!!! Fork tender, flavorful and juicy. Everyone raved about it and made comparisions to some of our favorite bbq places in town. Try this recipe. IT wont disappoint you!!!

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2010
This Ziti was really good! It had a wonderful flavor with the mixture between the provolone cheese, mozzarella cheese and the parmesan cheese. The sour cream was a wonderful addition. We like a lot of cheese so I bumped up the amounts and the parmesan cheese I have is the 3 cheese blend. I covered it for the first 30 minutes and took the foil off for the last 5 minutes. Very moist and flavorful dish!! Thanks for submitting this!

Sesame Pasta Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2010
I found this salad to be very bland. I followed directions although others said not to add all of the dressing and maybe I should have! If it werent for the spring rolls I made to go on the side, this dinner would have been completely forgettable.

Bread Pudding III

I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out delicious. Just the right amount of flavors and moistness. Just like Grandma used to make. Comforting and good warm or cold.

Easy Cheese Ball II

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2009
I made this cheese ball for Superbowl Sunday. It was not creamy at all. The shredded cheese made it hard to spread and it didnt have alot of flavor. My family didnt like it at all.

Frozen Chocolate Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2008
This was a wonderful, creamy pie. I too used an Oreo pie shell making this already easy to prepare pie, easier! Its a great dessert for summer but keep it cold because it does melt quickly. I will definitely make this one again!

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2008
I followed the advice of another reviewer using cornstarch instead of flour. I followed the recipe otherwise and found this to be a very smooth, rich, creamy and delicious pie! I made my own whipped cream instead of using cool whip and it only made this pie better if thats possible. I havent had a better coconut cream pie and I will make this one again!! Thanks for sharing your recipe!

Chicken Wilson

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2008
I didnt have any white wine so I substituted 1/2 can cream of chicken soup stirred together with 1/2 can of chicken broth and poured that over everything. My family rated this recipe a 10!! I served it with herb stuffing and corn. Really good flavor and so moist. I will definitely make this again!!

Ham and Cheese Bowties

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2008
Like others have said, add more pasta otherwise it is too saucy. I substituted dijon mustard which added more flavor as this is a bland dish. Good kicked up macaroni and cheese recipe, but thats it.

Jeannie's Famous Potato Hamburger Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2008
I followed the recipe exactly and the potatoes were not cooked and slightly crisp. The amount of hamburger seems too little for this size pan and lacks flavor. We basically tasted cheese and cream. Very rich and not enough flavor for my family.

Beefy Corn Bread Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2008
As others have said, add the taco seasoning! I also would make more of the meat mixture because it had an overwhelming cornbrread taste. I make another recipe like this and in the layers, I add sour cream. Overall, it was very tasty and I would make it again with a couple modifications as stated!

Baked Spaghetti

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2008
This was good except it was too dry for us. I had some left over so the next day, I added more spaghetti sauce right on top and kind of poked through the casserole so the sauce would go down into it. I covered it and baked it again at 325 and it tasted better than the first day I made it.

Creamiest Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2008
Thank you for submitting this recipe!! I used to stand at my stove stirring and stirring for over an hour. This recipe was wonderful to be able to put the lid on it, walk away, and return to stir occasionally. I took the hint of another reviewer when after an hour, it wasnt thick enough for me. It too about 90 minutes for it to get to the thickness that I like. I cut back the amount of sugar too because I would rather add sugar later then not be able to take it out if I add it at the beginning and it ends up too sweet. A creamy, wonderful, just like mommas rice pudding!!

Bean Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2007
I tried this recipe and I am sure it would have been fantastic but...I tried another reviewers tip and added the baking soda to the beans after they boiled. I thought I followed the directions but I dont think I rinsed the beans well enough after adding the baking soda. My soup turned out extremely salty! It ruined it. I think this was my mistake so rinse rinse and rinse again so you dont make the same mistake I did and ruin a good pot of soup!!

GA Peach Pound Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2007
I had an abundance of fresh peaches to use up so I tried this recipe to make something out of the ordinary. It is wonderful! It is a very moist, dense, cake. I added a few more peaches than the recipe called for to make it extra peachy. The sugar coating all over the cake gave it just the right amount of sweetness although I did powder the cake with powdered sugar for appearances and my family can't have anything too sweet! Thank you for a great recipe!
