I like the fast version. I do cook a special occasion version that is a huge hit! The night before I cut 12 tomatoes, peel and cut up. I use fresh garlic(five cloves at least), one onion, one green pepper, lots of small red and orange peppers, the same seasonings, a dry italian red wine splash, and throw in the crock pot. I then make the meatballs with one pound of lean meat and 1/2 pound of italian sausage. I use an onion, fresh garlic, fresh peppers, fresh parmesan cheese (1/3rd cup) and the other ingredients in the recipe. I allow the meatballs to marinate in the crockpot overnight with sauce. In the morning, I cook all day on low. It's amazing,,,,,,,,,,I like to use a higher quality noodles found in the refrig section when doing the special version. Everyone eats it till they cannot walk. Sometimes you may need to add some tomato paste judging on how you like your sauce and how it is turning out. I also prefer brown sugar over white sugar. My husband likes me to add fresh mushroom to the sauce.
