Egyptian Koshari

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2010
I liked this, but I think I liked it better than everyone else. It was a little bland, so I added a little here and there to spruce it up. Had it with naan, and it was good!

Honey Mustard Chicken with Pretzel Crust

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2010
This was good, but a little too mustardy for me. I may have been too generous in my dose!

BBQ Chicken Pizza I

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2010
I didn't have any Smoked Gouda or red onion, so I used Asiago and Mozzarella, and fresh green onion from my garden. It was YUMMY! I just bought the Smoked Gouda and onion, because it sounds even better that way, but it was terrific even without the right cheese and onion!

Chili-Lime Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2010
This was okay, but I think it lacked in the va-voom category! By the title I was expecting a lot more. This was just good, but not anything I'm dying to make again.

Red Skinned Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2010
This was okay, but not a knock-your-socks-off salad! I would have boiled the potatoes a tad longer, and there is definitely something else missing...mustard? Some sort of flavor, for certain. I need to tinker with it a little.

Corn Dogs

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2010
My family loves these! I usually try to avoid deep fat frying, but this is one time we bend the rules. (Of course, we have to do the fries that way, too....) I finally learned that I don't need a thick coat of batter on there. I kept trying it that way, only to have most of it come off in the oil. I dry the dogs with a paper towel, and just kind of slather it on, and it works!

San Francisco Sourdough Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2010
This is very yummy! Of course the starter has everything to do with it. I am still a novice, but I am learning to "feed" my starter, and the results have been great. The kids love it, even with the onion topping! Shocker!

Tantalizing Turkey and Blue Cheese Meatballs

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2010
I liked these, but they weren't a huge hit with the family. I was expecting more of a "bite" with the blue cheese and jalapeno. One thing I should have done differently was chopping the pepper and onion. My food processor is needing a part, so I did it by hand, and the pieces were too big. That may have been the biggest turn off for the kids.

Fudgy Milk Chocolate Fondue

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
This was a pretty simple fix for my family. I used light chocolate syrup and fat free Eagle milk, and it was still very good. It just never thickened as much as I would have liked. I used Mexican vanilla, which made it even better.

Unbelievable Spinach Calzones

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
I made my own pizza dough, but other than that, followed the recipe. My family LOVED them, and the kids even ate the spinach!

Cinnamon Belgian Waffles

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
My husband says these are the best waffles he's tasted, and that is high praise from a picky man! I made a few alterations: I substituted soy protein powder for 1/4 c. of the flour, and used half all-purpose flour, half whole wheat graham flour. I also used a tsp. of cinnamon, and a little more buttermilk, because the alteration in flour made it a little too thick at first. I have a big family, and I have to double this recipe. We love it!

Empanadas

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
Easy recipe, but a crowd-pleaser! I did have to triple it for us, however. I put a dab of caramel topping and a dab of apple pie filling in each. Gone in a flash!

Very good! I replaced sugar with Splenda, and brown sugar with Splenda brown sugar blend. I also added a lot more cinnamon!
