Italian Sausage Soup with Tortellini

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2015
A very hearty soup. Personally it was too much for me as far as thickness and intense sausage flavor. However this is restaurant quality. I used rotel tomatoes.

'Chinese Buffet' Green Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2014
These are perfect! I had to give up Chinese take out since I had a terrible headache last time and suspect msg/high salt content. These are perfect and I used canola oil instead of peanut and I blanched the beans before as another reviewer recommended. Thanks for sharing.

Coleslaw I

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2014
There is too much dressing for one head of cabbage. I would describe it as a "creamy" coleslaw because of the amount of juice. I also used cider vinegar as others commented but found it way too strong. I added about 1/3 cup more sugar to remove the strong taste and that seemed to help. Will let the flavors blend overnight.

This is so good. Using the fresh tiny cherry tomatoes quartered worked perfect.

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2012
My father-in-law LOVED this! The rest of us are opposed to sweet potatoes, but I think this is a recipe we could use to try to aquire a taste. I had a little taste and it was nice and sweet. Once you learn to like them, I would also cut back on the sugar.

Garlic Prime Rib

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2012
Great taste! I used this with a 5lb. eye of round. We did it in the electric oven and I had to hit broil in order to sear the top. I used the timing direction as described in other reviews and it did not take long to cook. Started at 3 and had eaten and cleaned up by 5pm! Because of the cut of meat I used, we had to slice it thin as it was a little tough. The gravy it made was really good. I added beef broth from a can but would not have needed it. I used too much garlic for some in the family as they had tummy aches the next day. But the rest of us loved it and I think it was just me over estimating as I used chopped garlic. Loved it! I would use a bigger roast

Peanut Butter and Banana Dog Biscuits

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2011
I have made these twice now and both times I find they don't keep more than a week. I have a little dog- at one point I saw fuzz growing on them before I gave it to her thankfully. She likes the flavor, just be prepared to share the batch. Also does not keep well as batter.

I made this for a "soup party" one night when I had one of those home parties. It was a hit and I now have barley on hand. Thanks for sharing!

Beer Butt Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2011
We have made this recipe a lot on the grill but the last time it scared me a little. There is a great potential for fire so please be careful. I guess some folks have a stand for the bird, but I was just using the can. It tastes great but from now on I will have extra water on hand so the bird does not charr. And I will make a mental note that I will smell like smoke for the rest of the evening. Everyone looked it though!

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2011
We made this for my mom on Mother's Day. It taste really good, but the mess is worth mentioning. You won't be able to reuse your oil a lot of the topping falls off. I was hoping for a lighter brown crust and this one is on the heavy side and did not get as brown as I thought. The tase was really good though!

Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Dog Treats

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2010
Five paws up! Doubled the peanut butter and pumpkin. Others were correct in that eventually it is the consistency of pie dough. Let it sit a bit and it gets firmer. You could roll this out or drop by spoonfuls. Thanks for sharing! A keeper!

Wow! Doggie approved, but I am wondering about nutritional value. Of course compared to the sotre bought treats these has less preservatives so they win on that vote. Now would could we add for extra vitamins?

Chicken Tortilla Soup V

Quick and tasty! I used roasted chicken leftovers, the crockpot and added a can of rinsed black beans. The broth is great alone and the spices really make you feel good on a cold night!

Campbell's Kitchen Creamy Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2009
These were great. My Father-in-law even asked for me to reheat some of the leftovers for him tonight. I did make a change-Taco sauce-because that was the closest thing we had. I agree with some that say it does not look the greatest when on a plate. Maybe we should all have a lesson in how to roll and tuck.
