I am a full time teacher and busy Entrepreneur. Together with my husband we own several coin operated service businesses. I do all of the accounting and we are often running between locations. O
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook items in the rotisserie (Chicken, beef, pork)as it frees up time to catch up on household chores. In addition, crockpot items are great. Southern, old fashioned recipes are the best.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I enjoy family meals such as Christmas and Easter.
My cooking triumphs
Finding such a place as allrecipes has allowed me to be viewed as a very good cook. The trick is to make those items with great reviews and 5 stars! Saves time trying new recipes and ends disappointment.
My cooking tragedies
Bread. Every big family meal I think I have THE recipe and it always comes out dense and somewhat flater than expected. Must be in the technique.

'Chinese Buffet' Green Beans
These are perfect! I had to give up Chinese take out since I had a terrible headache last time and suspect msg/high salt content. These are perfect and I used canola oil instead of peanut and I blanched the beans before as another reviewer recommended. Thanks for sharing.

Coleslaw I
There is too much dressing for one head of cabbage. I would describe it as a "creamy" coleslaw because of the amount of juice. I also used cider vinegar as others commented but found it way too strong. I added about 1/3 cup more sugar to remove the strong taste and that seemed to help. Will let the flavors blend overnight.

Spicy Bean Salsa
This is so good. Using the fresh tiny cherry tomatoes quartered worked perfect.
