Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2007
i left out all the vegetables in the recipe and only added the pineapple to the sauce and my girlfriend said it was the best sweet and sour sauce she's ever had. will use as a base again!!!

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2007
i made this cake yesterday. from reading the reviews, i thought it'd be pretty chocolately, but after tasting it with just the powdered sugar, i thought it could be even more decadent. i'm going to frost the remaining cake with fudge frosting to make it suit my EXTREME sweet tooth even more. the cake is moist and very simple to make. i will try the variations, chocolate cherry, chocolate peanut butter, YUM!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2007
this has been my staple chocolate chip cookie recipe for awhile now, and it never fails to impress. i've followed the additions of other reviewers and they always turn out excellent. very easy to make different cookies from as well. i love adding different mix-ins!

Molten Chocolate Cakes With Sugar-Coated Raspberries

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2007
very easy. i didn't have raspberries, so i warmed up some cherry pie filling and sprinkled some powdered sugar on top. delicious! easy, very presentable dessert for special occasions, or whenever!

Eggplant Parmesan II

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2007
i gave this 4 stars because it still tasted pretty good even without frying. i used zucchini instead of the eggplant and i didn't peel it or degorge. i would make this again though, because i love eggplant/zucchini and cheese!! very filling!

Chocolate-Mascarpone Phyllo Triangles

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2007
eh. after making this i realized i only like savory phyllo dough recipes. i made the recipe to specs, then in a few i added some cherry pie filling (omitting the honey in the chocolate filling). the cherry pie ones were actually better. i personally don't like working with phyllo dough, so maybe that's another reason i didn't like this recipe. the best thing i've made with phyllo dough is stromboli, and that's the only thing i'll ever make with phyllo dough!

Caramel Apple Dip

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2007
yum. under 5 ingredients and fast! so delicious! my mix is chilling in the fridge right now. this is so versatile! this recipe has earned a spot in my own book! thanks! i hate buying prepackaged items, and with this being so simple and easy, why not make your own?! WOW! bananas are THE BEST to be dipped in my opinion. next time i'm going to use fat free cream cheese instead of the 1/3 less fat to save even more calories! this will be used OFTEN!!!! UPDATE: i used the fat free cream cheese, and it turned out very runny!!! i will stick with at least the 1/3 fat. still a great consistency without full fat!

Amish Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2007
YUM! so much better than prepackaged salad! i don't even like macaroni salad, but i couldn't stop eating this! the 5 star review is after i followed the advice of other reviewers and added only 2 T. sugar, and it was STILL sweet! i didn't add the pepper because i just don't like them and it was still delicious! made it into my own recipes! thanks!

Mini Pineapple Upside-Down Cakes

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2007
i chose this recipe because i had a white cake mix begging to be used. so obviously, i omitted the yellow mix. i used fresh pineapple, which now that i've tasted it, probably wouldn't make a difference if you used canned, but i just LOVE fresh! i also put the cherries in the pineapple in one pan, and followed the recipes instructions on the other pan, and either way is good. the best thing about this recipe is the size!!!! i think the size is perfect for pineapple upside down cakes. prefect individual sizes, everyone gets some pineapple and a cherry. it was a very forgiving recipe. this has made my own recipe book and will be making it several times in the future! took the other posters advice about rum for my alcoholic friends, but i just poured some captain morgan over the chilled cakes and let it soak in. many compliments!

Chocolate Velvet Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2007
i chose this recipe because i always have cocoa powder. the first time i made it i didn't print out the recipe and ended up using the wrong measurements! i used a half cup of cocoa and a cup of sugar and i didn't add the chocolate chips and it was GREAT! the second time i used dark chocolate cocoa and added the chocolate chips and it was totally different (but i should have realized everytime i substitute dark chocolate i end up with a totally different texture in whatever i'm making). then i made it again using my first screw up with the 1 cup of sugar and 1/2 c. cocoa and it was good again. the altered version has made it into my cookbook!

i cut this recipe in half. another reviewer was correct in saying there wasn't enough peach flavor. nice creamy texture, but next time i will add more fruit puree!
