Beer Lime Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2014
This was more of a 3.5 for me. It smelled wonderful, but it just didn't seem to have much flavor to it. I left it marinating for 3-4 hours, but it still didn't seem to be enough. May make it again, may not, I'm not sure yet.

Chef John's Pumpkin Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2014
Delicious! Made about a dozen pancakes. They were thick and fluffy, but the batter is quite a bit thicker than I'm used to working with.

Grilled Spicy Lamb Burgers

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2014
These were fantastic. Definitely a little spicy (almost too much for me, but my other half loved!). I was told that it was "restaurant quality", something he'd expect from one of our high end burger places. I did make a couple of minor changes. Due to rain, I was unable to grill, so I cooked for 5 min. on the George Foreman grill, set to med/high. These were done. I like mine a little more on the rare side, so I will probably reduce the time if I cook them like that again. Also, I used Naan Bread instead of pita bread, and folded it over. It was absolutely delicious. We added spinach leaves and tomato slices. I didn't need anything else, but I have it on good autority that this was also fabulous with horseradish. :)

Great flavor. Not too sweet, and the oatmeal really added to this!

Shrimp with Ginger and Snow Peas

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2014
Very tasty and flavorful! The only request in my house was for more of the sauce. I may try to tweak the next time I make this to honor the request, but it was very quick and easy. A great weeknight dinner!

Tomato Basil Salmon

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2014
I really, really enjoyed this, it was quick and easy to make, and Tomato Basil is one of my favorite summer flavors. I felt like there could have been more of a tomato flavor to it, more with each bite, but I haven't come up with the best way to get there. Maybe dicing the tomato?

Basil Shrimp

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2014
Delicious! I didn't have enough skewers, so I grilled what I could and pan sauteed the rest. I did use dried basil, only because my fresh had turned, but it still turned out wonderfully and had a great flavor. The recipe doesn't specify, but I used medium shrimp, and had WAY too many. Next time I will probably use Large or Jumbo shrimp. Thanks for a great meal!

Fiery Pork Skewers

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2014
This had so much flavor, and was such a quick and easy fix. We were rained out of our cookout, so I sauteed with a little olive oil and serverd over rice. It made a fanatastic pan sauce that was perfect for the rice. I can't wait to try it on the grill, but I'll definitely keep this one in the recipe box!

Holiday Leg of Lamb

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2014
The combination of spices on this was just delicious. I will probably increase it the next time that I make it, because they gave it such a good flavor. I plan to use that blend for lamb chops as well.

Chicken, Asparagus, and Mushroom Skillet

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2014
This was absolutely delicious. I doubled everything so that we would have lefftovers for lunch, and we almost didn't. I was a little worried, since I didn't serve this with pasta or rice, just as is, but it was still plenty, and filling for us.

Coffee Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2014
Not bad. It had a good flavor, but was very chocolatey, I couldn't taste the coffee at all. I'm going to play around with it to see if I can get a stronger coffee flavor, maybe leave out the chocolate completely?

Can't wait to try this one grilled! I was unfortunately rained out, but baked the strips I cut at 425 for 30 min. So tender and flavorful!

Grilled Chicken Thighs Tandoori

Reviewed: May 30, 2014
These turned out wonderfully! It almost tasted like we picked up takeout. I couldn't grill due to rain, and I wasn't able to get thighs, but did use breasts cut into smaller pieces. I baked these at 400 until they were tender. Serverd with Naan and rice, and it was a fantastic dinner.

Amazing 'Pizza' Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 29, 2014
Wow doesn't even begin to cover this one. I was rained out on the grill, but baked them in the oven at 375, loosly covered in foil, until done, then added the cheese and put them back in the over for just a couple of minutes. The flavor on these was, as the name says, amazing. I probably added a little more basil, oregano and garlic than was called for, I just eyeballed it when I added it, but I also had more pork chops than were called for. The tomates and fresh basil really made the taste jump out!

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: May 28, 2014
I really enjoyed the strong cream cheese flavor in this one. It was so much better than the sickly sweet, over the top premade icing that you buy, and it tasted fresh. I didn't have the issues with runniness that some reviewers talked about, but the icing was not as firm as some others I've made when I was spreading it. I made it for a Strawberry cake, and will definitely use again.

Strawberry Cake from Scratch

Reviewed: May 28, 2014
Everyone who's trid this swear the cake tastes like strawberry ice cream. It was a little on the dense side, even after sifting the flour before measuring, but I was expecting it, and it still had a wonderful flavor. Made cream cheese icing to go with and it really set off the flavor.

Lemon Ginger Shrimp

Reviewed: May 28, 2014
Very flavorful! Quick and easy to make! I was a little short on time, so I didn't marinate the full 2 hours, and I got rained out, so I sauteed them with all of the sauce. Served with angel hair and a nice salad, and it was a wonderful meal. Will definitely make again!

Shrimp and Pasta Shell Salad

Reviewed: May 27, 2014
We absolutely loved this, I think it's going to be one of my new summer goto recipes. I did make a couple small changes. I omitted the red pepper (food allergy) and substituted 1 chopped tomato, and because I forgot the celery, I substituted a diced zucchini (because I had one in the fridge) and it was fantastic. The entire batch only lasted about 3 days in my house.
