Pasta Strega Nonna

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2011
This is such a quick, easy, and tasty recipe. It's easily one of my staples when I have shrimp on hand. I've also substituted broccoli for the asparagus depending on what's in season and it works well!

Aunt Norma's Rhubarb Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2011
Amazing muffins! They're soft and moist. The buttermilk really makes a difference.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
This is a great starter recipe! I left out the bottom crust and didn't miss it. Per other reviewers I made a little more sauce. I also left out the celery seed (didn't have any) and replaced it with garlic powder. Last addition was using skim milk and adding a potato. It was great for a cold winter night!

Day Before Pay Day Fried Rice

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2010
This is a great recipe! My husband requests it regularly. I generally thaw a frozen veggie mix and toss that in to make it even easier.

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2010
This was amazing. Probably the best salmon I've ever cooked at home. The only thing I left out was the lemon pepper since I didn't have any. I replaced it with a little pepper instead.

Tofu and Veggies in Peanut Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2010
Not a fan. I fried the tofu before, and the sauce didn't meld with the veggie choices. The sauce alone (with my modifications) was awesome though; it was too sweet and bland as written. Needless to say, won't be making this one again.

Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2010
I made them the original way and they were good, then made them substituting 2 cups of whole wheat flour for 2 of the cups of white flour, and 3 Tbsp of flax seed for the oil. They are delicious! It's been 3 days and they're still soft and chewy.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies III

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2009
These cookies are delicious! I replace 3/4 c all purpose flour with 3/4 whole wheat flour. You can't even tell they're a bit healthier. I may try all whole wheat flour next time I make them. I agree with other reviewers that the cookies need to sit on the pan for at least 2 minutes to prevent crumbling. I also use a criss-crossed cooling rack so the cookie can't fall through the slots.

Apple Raisin French Toast Strata

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2009
Huge hit! I added dried cranberries instead of raisins and used less eggs like some other reviews suggested. I didn't peel the apples one of the times I've made it, and it still was good.
