Cucumber-Cilantro Raita (Yogurt)

Good! A nice balance of flavours. Second time round I added 1 clove of very finely diced garlic, which I thought worked well.

Homesteader Cornbread

Not bad, but not exactly bread. When I looked at the ingredients and quantities, I thought it would make a sweetish cakey bread, which it did. Tasted great, but not exactly what homesteader cornberad is supposed to be.

Yummy Couscous Salad

Fantastic salad. Like other reviewers, I felt there is too much red onion. But the problem may be that if the amount of servings is reduced, the amount of onion - 1 red onion - stays the same. For 2 people, 1/4 of a red onion at most. But it's a delicious salad, easy to make, very flexible in terms of ingredients - I've added cucumber, chicken, sweetcorn etc, at various times, and it still tastes great.

Ali's Amazing Bruschetta

A very good bruschetta. Like a lot of other reviewers, I felt garlic really improves the taste. And I think it needs something to add a little kick, so I've tried balsamic vinegar and a large pinch of salt, on different occasions. I think that salt foes more to balance out the natural sweetness of the dish.

Veggie Vegetarian Chili

delicious! It is really good as it is, but like any chili, you can out in whatever you want, as long as it is in moderation. A handful of butterbeans was a nice extra ingredient.

Flourless Chocolate Cake I

wow! Like a log in my stomach, but a good one. I found it needed more time to cook, it was just too liquidy after the time in the instructions. Another 5 minutes cooking would help. And yes, a hot knife is a must for cutting.

Fresh Salsa I

Banana Fritters

Delicious. I didn't use so much oil, as I wanted to shallow fry them. They were light, fluffy, and great. Easy to adjust the cinnamon, sugar, flour etc for your taste.

Doreen's Steak Marinade

I thought this was excellent (I dont give out 5 stars too easily!). I followed the recipe exactly, marinaded for 4 hours, and the steaks were delicious. I made it again and followed the recommendations of some on here and marinaded for 24 hours, but I felt the steaks had gone too sweet by that stage. I've since experimented with whiskey instead of sherry - it was fina also.
