Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2007
Absolutely Amazing!! I bake all the time and this is by far one of my favorite recipes. I found this recipe in 2007 and have been making it ever since whenever an apple pie was called for, and every time, with every crowd - it has got RAVE reviews. The only change I make id to pour the syrup over the apples before putting the top crust on, and we prefer a full crust to the lattice. This recipe is perfect! You gotta try it - you won't be disappointed.

Blueberry Cream Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2011
These are amazing! I've made them twice this week - once with frozen blueberries and once with fresh - I will say nothing beats fresh blueberries, but they were delicious either way! I am now deleting all other saved bluebery muffin recipes I have. The only thing I changed/added, was to sprinkle a little crystalized sugar over them before baking - definitely not needed, but I like the fancy sparkly look it creats for presentation :-)

Cinnamon Raisin Bread I

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2010
Delicious - even modifying for my bread machine! I have a small bread maching and I wanted to save time and make the dough that way so here's what I did: (this is also so I'll remember next time!) change the number of servings to 12; warm the milk and the water and add in the order listed according to your bread machine. For the ingredients that are listed as "2 tbsp plus 2 tsp" I used 3 tbsp. Still used a full cup of raisins (softened in some warm water for about 30 minutes ahead of time) - added about 20 minutes into kneading cycle. Also added about a tsp of cinnamon into the bread. When dough cycle finishes, continue with the directions as written but only make 1 loaf! FABULOUS!!!! Can't wait to make french toast tomorrow morning with this delicious bread.

Irresistible Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
I'm an avid baker but this was the first time I had ever made a pecan pie. I eliminated the pecan in the filling because I thought it would be too much and the pie turned out wonderful. Everyone raved about it! Excellent recipe

Rhubarb Strawberry Crunch

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2012
This was sooo delicious. I used closer to 4 cups of strawberries - to use up what I had; For the topping I reduced the flour to 1 cup kept everything else the same except added a generous teaspoon of cinnamon. We loved this recipe, the perfect combo of tart and sweet. I always make my 'crunch' recipes in a deep casserole dish, not a baking pan; this one used the large French White dish and it was perfect. No complaints about too much topping from us - that's what makes a crunch a crunch!

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2012
This is absolutely delicious! Definitely the best bread pudding I've ever had. I used half&half instead of the milk, and used 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup white sugar. Served with rum sauce...yummy! Can't wait to have an excuse to make this again! Will definitely become a "go-to" dessert recipe. Thanks

Prosciutto-Wrapped Chicken Breasts with Herbed Goat Cheese

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would! Oh My Goodness - this is divine!! Any soooo easy to do. I subbed feta for the goat cheese, and green onions for the shallots. With or without dates, it's excellent so don't make a special trip to the store if you don't have them. I made this ahead of time in the morning, refrigerated it for the day and then cooked it at 400 for about 20-25 minutes (using very large chicken breasts). The chicken was juicy and tender, and the prosciutto was nice and crispy. Perfect for an elegant dinner party. I served it with mashed sweet potatoes and buttered green beans...but this would go nicely with any side. I will definitely be making this again.

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2011
We all thought this was a delicious alfredo sauce. The cream cheese makes it so rich and creamy but you really don't taste it. I used a little less milk, minced garlic instead of garlic powder, and added about 1/4 tsp of nutmeg right at the end. I didn't mix any herbs into the actual sauce, but you could definitely sprinkle some FRESH oregano or parsley over the top of your pasta dish...even basil would be quite nice. Awesome!

OMG! This was delicious and soooo easy to make. I baked it in a 2 qt french white casserole dish and it was perfect. Topped with a little vanilla frozen yogurt or ice cream or whipped cream - awesome dessert. (and yummy breakfast the next morning minus the ice cream, of course)

Oven Scrambled Eggs

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2012
I was a little skeptical about making scrambled eggs in the oven but Oh My am I ever glad I did! These were the fluffiest and most delicious scrambled eggs I have ever eaten! I used half and half instead of milk (only because I had some in the fridge that I needed to use up) and added some chopped ham after the first 10 minutes. Sprinkled with cheese before serving - fantastic!
