Pasta Hot! Hot! Hot!

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2012
The basics of this dish are very good, however it came out kind of bland to me: I used minced garlic because I had it on hand, and sauteed it in the olive oil with the red pepper and poured it over my pasta. I'll admit I didn't have spaghetti so I used an elbow noodle, and cooked way too much so I doubled the sauce - and I could taste it but it was, again, bland. So I added a can of cooked chicken, plenty of parmesan, and quite a bit of lemon juice (after a favorite lemon pepper pasta dish). Delicious! And easy - just enough heat with the recommended amount of red pepper!

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2012
So I made a steak for the first time ever today (I'm only 22, give me a break). I used Allrecipes to find a good steak recipe since I had no idea what to do, except that I was going to pan-fry it. This marinade came up on top of the ratings list. I used the hot sauce and extra garlic, and the only thing I changed was I used minced garlic instead of the garlic powder (didn't have powder), and used italian seasoning instead of the basil (once again didn't have basil). This turned out amazing! I can only imagine how much better it would've been if I was more experienced cooking steak! Definitely recommending this one to friends and family. Thanks for posting it!

Dave's Ultimate Guacamole

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2007
It was good, but I like the bags of guacamole mix much better. I found this recipe too mild, and ended up adding half a jar of salsa. Still very good though.

Herbed Mushroom Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2008
This was a great recipe. I was looking for something a little meatier and with more chunky tomatos so I changed a few things. I used 2 lbs for ground beef, a little extra garlic and olive oil. Then instead of 2 cans of tomato sauce I used one and 2 (14.5 oz I think?) cans of stewed tomatoes. Everyone liked it, even the picky kids I was serving. I also only simmered it for about a half hour. It was delicious!

Veronica's Hot Spinach, Artichoke and Chile Dip

Reviewed: May 6, 2012
Delicious! I added garlic and feta cheese and didn't have green chiles. I also used fresh spinach. Next time I will add another can of artichoke hearts and more spinach.

Avocado Mango Salsa

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2010
1 lime is too much lime juice, but it was tasty despite. I used serrano peppers instead of habaneros because I wasn't sure I could handle the habaneros, but the serranos weren't bad either.

Very easy, very good! I didn't have garlic powder, but used dried chopped garlic, and it was still delicious!

Creamy Mushroom Macaroni

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2011
Very good! I added garlic and some diced red peppers I needed to get rid of. My only beef is that the cheese needed to be a little more creamy and a little less thick. But it was yummy!

Chicken with Garlic, Basil, and Parsley

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2011
Delicious, easy, and with so few ingredients. I was worried the cooking process would dry out the chicken some, but the tomatoes were more than enough to keep it delicious. And its very fresh and good for you as well. Will definitely make again.

Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms II

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2011
Very good and very easy. Made a more filling than I could stuff mushrooms with but probably due to different size mushrooms and what not. Thinking about trying the extra in a quesadilla. Would definitely make again!

Avocado-Mango Salsa

Delicious. Tasted like a mango-y margarita almost. A little salty, but once it soaked it up a little, it was amazing!

Spinach Artichoke Spread

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2010
It was pretty good. I generally like my spinach dip with more cream or cheese and less spinach. It was great on chips, and I bet it'd be amazing on bread.

Two Layer Greek Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2009
The dip itself was delicious. The tomatoes and black olives were a little too much for me. If it was like half as much it would've been great. I did substitute garlic powder and onion powder, and skipped the cucumbers. Still good! Oh and I couldn't find pita bread rounds for the life of me so I got garlic toasts. Which was good. :)

Heather's Cilantro, Black Bean, and Corn Salsa

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2012
Not a huge fan of beans, but this is great! And healthy! I did follow some of the other reviews and added 2 packets of taco seasoning and garbanzo beans. I had tomatoes on hand, so I used them instead of canned (took me about 2 1/2 to make it the consistency I like). I also skipped the onion due to personal preference. I planned on adding jalapeno for spice but decided to add sriracha (my weakness) instead, and it took quite a bit, to get it to my spicy level, but its good. I wish I had another avocado to add, and I did add 2/3 c lime juice and a little extra olive oil. Bringing it to a work potluck tomorrow, but I don't care if no one likes it, because I have no guilt eating this very healthy snack!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2011
Maybe I didn't do it right, but this didn't turn out at all like I hoped. The flavor was good, but I just couldn't get past the texture. Not like the chicken and dumplings I was expecting.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2011
Delicious. I am particularly fond of the crisp part so I doubled that. And my apples had been previously frozen, so I think it would've been better if I had added more flour to the apples to soak up more of the juice.
