Jan's Pretzel Dogs

Reviewed: May 8, 2012
These were so good. I can’t believe I made pretzel for the first time. I dried the pretzels with paper towel before I baked them. Instead of salt, I put cheddar cheese on the top. I also put jalapenos on some of them. I will use canned jalapenos instead of the fresh ones next time; also I will put more salt in the dough if I am not going to put salt on the top. For sure I will make these again. Thanks Jan for the recipe.

Vanilla - Chocolate Powdered Sugar Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2012
This is the only recipe that I use for vanilla frosting. I only used 1.5 cups of the sugar and about 1 tablespoon of milk. I added the milk in small amount at a time until it reached the thickness of the frosting that I wanted. I always make 1.5 recipes to frost 12 cupcakes.

Sweet Vanilla Cupcakes

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2012
My 17 years old daughter made this last night. These are amazing cupcakes. She doubled the recipe and made 25 cupcakes. 24 will be perfect but she made one extra for us to try because she needed to bring 24 to school for Relay for Life (purple ribbons) bake sale . I will be making more of this soon. I agree, this recipe need to be published. Thank You Marianne for the sharing your recipe.

Peanut Butter Snack Cups

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2012
I Made these for *Recipe Group* 04-15-12. I made these using mini paper liners. I piped the pudding because I had hard time smoothing the top with the spoon. Messy to eat but it is better if you don’t thaw it so the cool whipped is not melted. I had a lot of leftover of the pudding so I just piped them on to the wafers. The combination of chocolate pudding and peanut butter tasted very good. It reminded me of Reese’s chocolate. May be I will make it into a pie like other reviewer did and just mix all of the cool whipped into the pudding.

This is really good!! The minced fresh cilantro really makes this simple cabbage taste very good. I seasoned the cabbage with salt when I stir-fry it. Served this with steam white rice.

Mom's Best Peanut Brittle

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2012
This is good, but next time I will use dark corn syrup instead of the light one to give it more color. Since I used salted peanuts, I omitted the salt. Add the peanuts at the end. I also warm up the cookie sheet lined with silicon liner. I forgot the vanilla as suggested by other reviewers but still taste very good.

Fried Butterflied Shrimp

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2012
This is very good. My husband thought I bought the shrimps from a restaurant. I used 1 ½ cups of water and 2 cups of cornstarch per other reviewer and that was too much for 1lb of shrimps. Next time I will use ¾ cup of water and 1 cup of cornstarch. I added salt & garlic powder into the panko crumb. I did the second coat of the wash and crumb after I finished all the first coat of the shrimps to give time for the crumb to dry up. I also refrigerated the shrimps for half hour to help the breading stick on the shrimps when they are frying.
