Pineapple Orange Sorbet

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2007
Me and my sister made this sorbet together and it turned out fabulously! We took the advice on adding a bit less orange juice and we also excluded the orange zest. The sorbet was a bit too sweet for my taste though, so next time I'll be sure to add less sugar. This recipe is a sure keeper and I'll be making it soon in the future!

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2007
This recipe was delicious. Because many other reviewers commented on how the recipe was bland, I decided to add 1 tsp. of cinnamon to the dry ingredients. My muffins weren't crumbly like other reviews (which was probably due to not letting the oats sit in the milk long enough), but instead the muffins were nice and moist. I also used cake flour instead so the muffins were extra fluffy. My muffins didn't rise though, for some reason, but still the taste was good.

Classic Waffles

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2007
My family just got a waffle iron yesterday, so I though I'd try this recipe because of the amazing reviews. I have to say I wasn't wowed or anything, but they were still pretty good. I cut the recipe in half, but I thought that 2 tsp. of baking powder was too much; it almost gave the waffles a bitter taste. I think I'd like more vanilla next time. My waffles were golden delicious, but not very crispy on the outside. I think that's my waffle iron's problem. Still though, great recipe!

Jambalaya II

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2008
This recipe was good, but there were some things I would have liked to change. First off, I only used 1 can of tomatos plus the tomato paste and it was STILL way to tomatoey. The rice took much longer than 20 minutes to cook as well just as a heads up. Overall, it was still good. I added some okra and it was delicious

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2009
Okay, though I hate it when people alter the recipe, I'm guilty of doing it for this recipe. I'm sure the recipe is fabulous as is, but I made slight modifications. I replaced about 3/4 of the water with coffee and added a couple of squares of dark chocolate to the cocoa mix. I took out half of the butter and substituted it with 1/4 c. applesauce. Also replaced 1/2 c of all purpose flour with whole wheat and added about 2 T of flax seeds. Other than the coffee, I couldn't even taste any of the substitutions! And yumm man was that cake good eatin'.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2010
I'm not sure how this recipe is as is, but with my additions it was yum! I added 1 tsp. vanilla and 1/4 tsp. almond extract, replaced all the sugar with 1/2 cup of honey, used 1 cup white flour and 1/2 cup whole wheat flour, and cut the recipe for the crumble in half.

Mmm-Mmm Better Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
Yay! I'm so happy this uses oil instead of butter. My sister and I were having a late night brownie craving so I just halved the recipe and made it in a small loaf pan. I also mixed up some cream cheese with a bit of powdered sugar and milk and swirled that into the top! Soooo good!

Blonde Brownies I

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
The first time I made this, for whatever reason, there wasn't enough batter. I don't think I let the butter and sugar cook long enough because when I went to pour into the pan, there just wasn't enough to spread across the pan! But I just made it a second time and it was successful and soo ooey and gooey and delicious. It's just like eating a fluffy chocolate chip cookie. Mmmm
