Dill Pickle Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2008
This soup is so smooth and buttery. I followed the recipe exactly as written and would not change a thing. Serving with ham and grilled cheese for a quick dinner bc my oldest son has a football game. Satisfying enough to fill but not too much to weigh him down. Will def use a lot this fall and winter.

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2008
This soup was very good. I made it for my grandmother after she had gotten out of the hospital for surgery and she couldn't get enough of it. I took the advice of others and doubled the cheese and the broccoli. I used half frozen and half fresh as to have big pieces of the broccoli in the soup for presentation and for texture. Anyways, it was awesome and I well def put this in my soup rotation.

Braised Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2008
This was very good. I did add some rosemary to the spice mixture and I braised the chops in chicken stock and tripled the gravy mix. For the gravy I mixed 1/2 cup of chicken stock with 1/4 cup water and 4 tsp of cornstarch and it tasted perfect. I served over stuffing with the gravy on top along with a salad and steamed corn. I will def make again.

These were really good and were easy to make. I did not fill them but I added the powdered sugar and they tasted like little funnel cake bites.

Baked Havarti Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2008
This was deeeelicious. My whole family loved it. Instead of using 2 4oz cans of whole chiles I used 1 4oz can of diced chiles and it was fine. Everything else I left the same. Will def make again.

Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2008
These are wonderful. My 4 yr old requests this all the time so you know its good. I don't use the mayo though. I use 1/2 sourcream and 1/2 crema cheese and keep everything else the same. I cook is covered for 30 min, uncovered for about 10-15 min, and then I broil for about 5-7 min to make the bacon a little more crispy. This def a keeper.

Awesome! I didnt have any fresh jalapenos, so I just chopped up some sliced jalapenos from a jar and added a little of the juice to the mix. I also added some dried steak seasoning and garlic powder. My husband loved them.

My Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2008
I love this chili with my own revisions. I made mine as follows : I use the 2lbs of ground sirloin, all the spices that the recipe called for plus some cumin, coriander, and a pinch of nutmeg. I add 2 cans of chili ready tomatoes, 1 can of rotel, 1 8oz can of tomatoe sauce, 2 cans of chili beans with the juice and 1 can of ranch style beans with the juice. I throw it all in the crockpot and put it on low all day so at the end of a chilly day at my 2 son's football practice it is nice and warm and ready. I serve it with cornbread and salad and of course toppings for the chili such as sourcream, pepperoncinis, jalapenos, cheese, olives, and tortilla strips.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
These fried up nicely. I breaded the night before the superbowl and let them sit in the fridge and then fried them up about 18 hrs later and they looked perfect. They were all gone very quckly and I had tripled the recipe and also had separated the wings in to drummetes as well.

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2008
This was wonderful. I ended up just throwing the bacon in the whole pot of soup and the smokiness was awesome. I had originally made this for my granny after a surgery but we ate so much I had to rush over the final bowl to her before we ate it. She thought that it was wonderful as well. I will def add to the rotation of soups I make when it is cold.

Roasted Garlic Flat Iron Steak

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2008
Simple yet delicious recipe. It took no time to make and the flavor was tremendous. The steak was soft like butter and the flavor was excellent. I even used a very inexpensive cut of meat and it still came out extra tender. Will def make again.

Good, good, good. These tasted as good as my fav burrito from the local authentic mexican restaraunt. I also followed the advice of others and did not put the tomato soup and used more enchilada sauce. I also added sliced black olives and jalapenos. Wonderful.

Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2008
This was wonderful. The chicken was so moist and tender. I think I will add more spices to it next time. I did let it marinate in the fridge for about 5 hrs before cooking. It was very simple and a good base recipe for many flavors.

Cornbread Muffins I

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2008
These were wonderful. I was making a pot of brown beans and ham and didn't have any cornbread so I hopped on here and found these. They were simple and all the ingredients were on hand. I bakes them in star shaped muffin tins wc made for a pretty presentation. I also used a half a can of corn and added chopped up jalapenos to it. Between the sweetness from the corn and the heat from the peppers it was a mouthful of flavor.
