Sangria II

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2008
This is wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. I will always use this as my sangria drink. As far as the fruits I added I used what was on hand. I used lemon, orange, strawberries, and a jar of maraschino cherries. It was so refreshing. My husband and I drank the whole jug while he worked on the the car. Will def make over and over.

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2008
This was pretty good. I have a recipe that I will stick with but this was worth the try. It made the house smell like a rib crib but the taste was lacking something. I prob will not try again. Sorry.

Fire Roasted Tomato and Feta Pasta with Shrimp

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2008
I loved this quick and delicious recipe. I added some fresh parsley and lemon zest and I could not find fire roasted tomatos so used diced tomatoes with garlic, basil, and oregano added. I made recipe according to directions and def came out with 4 servings with 1 left over and added double if not triple the amt of shrimp and they were the large ones. My kids loved it. I served along side garlic cheese bread and ceasar salad. Will def make again.

Spicy Hot Chicken Legs

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2008
This was great. I added lots of spices to the legs and covered in louisiana hot sauce wich I think I will vut back on next time cause my 3 yr old loved it so much she wouldnt quit eating it but she cried almost the whole time cause it was a little to hot for her. I think next time I will use bbq instead of hot sauce. I did out them in a 400 oven for 30 min and they were perfect.

Cool Cucumber Salsa

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2008
This was ok but I will not make it again. I ended up having to add about a 1/4 cup of my favorite salsa to the mix and it made it taste good enough to not waste.

Maple Bacon Pancake

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2008
I gave it 3 stars only bc my husband liked it but nobody else did. It doesn't beat having a stack of pancakes with bacon and sausage on the side. I will most likely not make this again.

Torsk

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2008
My review is a 4 star but my husband gives it 5. He loved that the fish had a slight consistency and taste of lobster but I thought that it was a little too tough. I will def make again and try it with thicker pieces of fish.

Chili Chicken 'N' Rice

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
This was an awesome dinner. Besides being so simple and quick it tasted fantasatic. I used velveeta for the cheese and also had jalapenos, onions, salsa, sourcream, and fritos for toppings so everyone could build theirs to taste.

Hot and Sweet Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
All I can say is make it exactly the way it is and you can't go wrong. I served it with tokatsu and everyone raved about it and was very surprised at the flavor that this sauce brought to the table. Will def make on many occasions.

Chicken Katsu

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
This was wonderful. I used porkchops that i pounded out to about a 1/4 in each. I then followed the recipe exactly and made a wonderful dipping sauce. To make the dipping sauce you need to boil 1/2 cup of rice vinegar then add 1/2 cup sugar and stir until dissolved then simmer for 5 min. While that is simmering mince 1 clove of garlic and mash it together with 1/4 tsp of salt to make a garlic paste. Throw that in that in the sauce and remove from the heat and then add 1 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes. Let it come to room temp and serve. Now it is pretty spicy so for the kids I had sweet and sour. This will def go into the monthly rotation for dinner.

Dad's Pan-Fried Green Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
These were just ok. Nothing like the green beans at the local chinese restaraunt. If I make these again I will leave out the balsamic and maybe cut down to to 2 tbs of soy.

Good Ol' Alabama Sweet Tea

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2008
This tea is awesome. My 5 yr old always adds so much sugar so I tried this out and I am so glad I did. I only added 1 1/4 cup of sugar and I used 3 family size tea bags of regular tea. I then threw in 3 bags of raspberry zinger celestial seasonings and the hint of raspberry is awesome. Next time I will try it with the orange tangerine and the balck cherry flavors. But, even without the flavorings I know that this is a bomb tea.

Artichoke Spinach Lasagna

Reviewed: May 27, 2008
My family loved this recipe. I made a few changes such as alfredo sauce instead of tomato sauce, added chopped cooked chicken, and a layer of ricotta mixed with egg, mozz, and s&p. This is a very good change from regular lasagna.

Tasty Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2008
This is fabulous. I didn't have any sage so I used a blend of savory seasoning. I also added mushrooms, celery, and fresh garlic to the veggies. I also used a blend of red, orange, and yellow mini sweet peppers. I will def use this as my base recipe for all stir fry now. Thank you so much!
