Nacho Cheese Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2013
This sauce wasn't even cheesy and had absolutely no flavor.

Chicken Florentine Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2013
I followed the recipe as-is, and there was WAY too much spinach and bacon bits. If I ever make this again, I will definitely use less spinach and bacon bits.

Creamy Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2011
This frosting was okay but needed more of a chocolate taste.

Cookies 'n Cream Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2011
Honestly, this just tasted like a regular box of cake mix. I couldn't taste ANY of the Oreos in the cake. And I was confused as to why so many of the reviews say that the frosting tasted just like the inside of an Oreo; mine sure didn't and I followed the recipe 100%!! The presentation was nice, but overall, it was pretty gross. Maybe a real, made from scratch cake and a buttercream frosting would be better...? Sorry, but I will never use this recipe again.

Triple-Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2011
This recipe was okay, but I made the mistake of cooking the cheese mixture before adding it to the macaroni. It was awful and completely ruined the texture of the macaroni and cheese. Otherwise, the cheese was just right, not too much or soupy at all. I'll just be sure to follow the directions next time. :)

Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2011
The taste was good, but the texture and the chalky aftertaste was awful. We even added some extra juice and fruit, but raw oatmeal is just not something I will ever put in another smoothie.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
This was really good, but the edges were a little crispy, and I even decreased the temp to 325 since others reported having the same issue. I also used only 1/2 cup oil and added about 1/3 cup milk. I made the Chocolate Satiny Glaze on here; very tasty!

Orange Glazed Carrots

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
This was wayyy too orange-y for my taste and really liquidy. I think I'll stick with the regular brown sugar glaze instead.

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2010
The patties were great! I browned them, then put them in a casserole dish coated with gravy, covered the dish & baked at 350 for about 30 minutes. For the gravy, I used Lipton Mushroom Onion soup mix, which was super easy and tasted delicious with the salisbury steak!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2010
This was wonderful!! I added some garlic & pepper, but I'm sure it could use even more spices. I used a ton of chicken broth (instead of water), and the dumplings soaked most of it up. I also added carrots and green beans, and shredded the chicken last, when it was nice & tender. Turned out awesome & is a very good comfort food! And so easy!

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
This was my very first time making a pot roast, and it turned out great! I rubbed the chuck roast with Montreal Steak Seasoning and garlic powder and browned it in olive oil, as others had suggested. I cooked it on HIGH for 5 hours, adding the veggies in during the last hour (so they didn't turn to mush). Yummyyyy!!!

Glazed Meatloaf I

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2010
I loved this!! It was a little sweeter than what I'm used to (I've never used brown sugar before), and I've always used bread crumbs and a ton of spices. So this was a nice change!

PHILLY Cheesecake Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2010
These were okay, but the brownie batter was a little runny & the cream cheese part was a little cakey. My kids loved them, but I'd prefer using a different recipe.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2010
This recipe was great; however, I used 1 cup white sugar and 1 cup brown sugar (instead of just white sugar), 1/2 cup vegetable oil and added 3/4 cup cinnamon applesauce. I also used 1 teaspoon each of baking soda and baking powder. For the frosting, I also decreased the powdered sugar to about 3.5 cups (since 4 cups was much too sweet). This was absolutely delicious!!

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2010
This recipe is great, but very expensive and time-consuming! It uses a lot of meat and barbecue sauce, when it's much easier and cheaper to purchase already-made pulled pork from the grocery store, and it tastes the same.

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

I added 1/2 cup more flour and 1/2 cup more peanut butter, baked them at 350 degrees for about 8 to 9 minutes and sprinkled sugar on them and they turned out fantastic!!

Classic Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2010
This recipe was okay, minus the peas. The parsley was also a bit much. Also, I STRONGLY recommend adding the noodles immediately before serving; any sooner and they will turn into complete mush.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2010
I made a few changes: I used 2 cans of condensed golden mushroom soup, a little pepper, half a packet of onion soup mix, and I used 3/4 cup of beef broth instead of water. I also browned the meat before adding (it was so much more tender and flavorful), and I added a dollup of sour cream at the end of cooking. I'm sure there are better stroganoff recipes out there, but this one is pretty good.
