About this Cook
I'm a young working wife and mother just learning to cook. So far I've found some wonderful recipes on here and continue to look for others!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake, though it's mostly out of a box when I do it right now...gasp! As a little girl I loved to make things from scratch, and would really like to get back into doing that. I also love finding quick easy things to make that are also actually good tasting! It's a challenge getting a good meal on the table since I'm on the road and at work 11 hours out of the day...
My favorite family cooking traditions
Hmmmm, none that I can think of growing up. We had a pretty bland diet, but now that I am married and have started a family I have enjoyed helping my husband cook Thanksgiving. He's a great cook with some good ideas, but I plan to take over that role!
My cooking triumphs
The first stew I ever made was a beef and beer stew in my crock pot and my husband actually liked it!
My cooking tragedies
Making my mom's "killer burgers" for the first time and mixing a whole bottle of the sauce in instead of just the called for cup! Needless to say, they didn't stay together while grilling.

Too Much Chocolate Cake
Delicious and easy. Instead of choc chips I used Ande's mint and chocolate chips and it was wonderful.

Puppy Chow
Yum. I used milk chocolate chips, and melted them with the PB in the microwave...so much easier. I also added about 1/8 C butter. Took to a company party and it was gobbled up.

The Best Banana Bread
Not the best, but pretty good with a few changes that were suggested by other reviewers. I added 1 tsp vanilla, 1/2 tbs cinnamon, used 1/2 white sugar, 1/2 brown. I didn't measure my banana, but I used 4. It baked for about 55 minutes, and I had to cover it after about 35 mins because it was browning too quickly, probably my oven though. I think this would probably be very bland as written. Also, definitely better after being refrigerated overnight, it wasn't very good still warm from the oven for some reason. Quick and easy to mix up, and good enough to eat.
