About this Cook
Wife, mother, watercolor artist, instructor, resident baker!
My favorite things to cook
Love to instruct our children in the kitchen. I bake with them at least once a week and usually give away our tasty treats to someone we know who has been hospitalized or sick.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband has Amish in his heritage roots and I love to find recipes from Amish cookbooks. My Granparents ate everything they planted themselves. I also love to make handed down recipes. Especially grape jam from our own grapes.
My cooking triumphs
Now when someone requests one of my recipes for a get together, that just makes my day!
My cooking tragedies
Everyone make mistakes is so very true in the kitchen. Ooops I'm out of curry just might turn into another family pleasing dish if I just use a little ceativity.

Overnight Blueberry French Toast
Always a crowd pleaser... My mother-in-law owns a Bed and Breakfast and makes a variation of this and taught me how to make this MUCH easier. Combine ingredients in Step 2 into a blender. Also I only use 9 large eggs therefore, it won't be such a close call. And this way cream cheese will be much more evenly distributed. Pour over cubed bread as follows. For an eye appealing final touch I sprinkle 1/4 C. Domino Washed Raw Cane Sugar over the top just before baking. When serving to children I make the bluberry sauce optional in a pretty glass bowl. (More for adults!)

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust
Looking for that perfect dough for your Calzones? Search no further. I only make this for my calzones and divide the dough into 12 portions. I fill with provolone, Italian sausage, sandwich pepperoni, sliced red & yellow peppers and onions. Kids and Hubby make this 5 stars.
