Chanukah Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2014
Nice small batch recipe for roll out cookies. Sometimes I'm in the mood for a nice sugar cookie, but most recipes make enough to feed 40 people. :) Love that these can be rolled out without refrigeration and that they aren't too sweet.

Oatmeal MM Cookies

Reviewed: May 17, 2009
This is a fantastic recipe! I love that it makes a reasonable amount--just making cookies for me and my husband I usually have to halve recipes and they never turn out as good. I love the almond extract. Thanks so much!!

Spiced Sweet Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2008
Wow! this is a great recipe-I served it with veggies for a light summer meal. I used 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper and 1/4 tsp new mexico chilli pepper to give it a full flavour with a little less bite. Will definitely be making this again!

Butternut Squash Soup with Spinach Ravioli

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2008
Very elegant presentation, and nice flavor combination. I would serve this again for company. I might thicken the soup a little next time- a little higher squash to liquid ratio. Excellent recipe!

Old Fashioned Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2008
This is an easy, fantastic recipe. I had some leftover coconut milk and I mixed it with water and used it for the milk in the recipe. It was pure creamy goodness! One of the other reviewers mentioned making it with soymilk, I'm looking forward to trying that too. Thanks for a wonderful recipe!

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2008
These really are outrageously good cookies. I've made them with whole grain spelt, and also with a barley flour/spelt combination to add some whole grains and they are decadent!! Chocalate-peanut flavour combination is amazing. Thanks for the great recipe.

Easy Blender Salsa

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2008
I've only ever made salsa with fresh tomatoes and was pleasantly surprised how good this recipe is using the canned tomatoes (not to mention easier). I used 1 can fire-roasted tomatoes & 1 regular and that gave it a nice smoky flavor. Great recipe!!

Turkey Breast with Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2007
I made this for Thanksgiving (there were only 3 of us) and it turned out amazing! I roasted it on a bed of sweet potatoes, and the flavor from the herb rub and the turkey drippings made everthing taste great. Easy and delicious!

Swedish Rye Bread II

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2007
This is a delicious and versitile recipe. It rises amazingly, and makes a moist, fluffy bread for the amount of rye flour it contains. I've also tried varying the amount of sugar and using different flours in addition to the rye; it always turns out great!!

Tomato-Cornbread Salad with Avocado and Cilantro

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2007
Fun way to use up left over cornbread. Amazing salad; just make sure to eat it right after you toss the cornbread with other ingredients, otherwise it will get soggy. Very creative and tasty recipe!

Lavender Shortbread Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2007
This is both an excellent shortbread recipe and a fun way to incorporate lavender into baking. I used dried lavender because that's what I had on hand and used about half the amount. Delicious and elegant recipe!

Broccoli Cheese Soup III

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2007
The soup was everything Broccoli Cheese soup should be: creamy, savory, not too heavy, excellent with bread bowls. I couldn't have asked for better.

Sourdough Rye

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2007
Question-Are you supposed to add the first ingredients to 1 cup of starter or are you supposed to add the ingredients to your starter and then use 1 cup of it? I did the latter, and the bread turned out okay, but it only made one small loaf.

Creamy Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2007
This pie is fantastic! And I don't usually like pie all that much-I made this for my husband and we both loved it. I replaced the sour cream with low fat plain yogurt to cut down the cholesterol. Will definitely make this again!
