I am a college student attending Purdue. I study computer information system and programming. I love cooking, but my love of computers made me steer away from culinary school. Well, and the fact I would not be able to cook what I want. I am a very picky eater.
My favorite things to cook
My best dish is my homemade alfredo, but I love to dabble in turning traditional comfort foods into vegan versions. I also love cooking Asian foods. Japanese is usually my preference since I grew up on it due to my heritage. I am still learning some dishes, but I am trying new things everyday.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom and I have some Japanese dishes we eat. One of my favorite things to put on steamed rice is furikake. A very comforting food for me is ochazuke nori. It reminds me of being home.
My cooking triumphs
I'm a very adept baker. I have yet to find a cookie I can't bake!
My cooking tragedies
I don't know how many times I have set things on fire in microwaves. Some microwaves have their wattages sky high and it does not take much to fill the kitchen with smoke. The worst time was when my microwave timer broke, and it cooked the food in it until flames were coming out. Never buy a cheap microwave!!!

Shepherd's Pie
I loved this recipe! We are a vegetarian household, but we like some flair in our food, so I used the Morning Star ground beef substitute. I also whipped the potatoes in my mixer with a little sour cream. I sprinkled cheddar cheese over the meat layer. I also used 1 can of cheddar cheese soup since I only had 1 can of cream of mushroom. I would also suggest to make double the mashed potatoes. I had a thin layer of mashed potatoes, but it was still amazing! Thanks so much!!

Soft Sugar Cookies V
I made these cookies for a meeting, and everyone loved them! I was asked for the recipe! They were so soft, and they were really tasty. I had seen a few reviews say that they were bland, but I put extra vanilla extract in them, and they were absolutely delicious! You won't regret making these!

Mexican Casserole
I really enjoyed this recipe. It was fast, it was easy, and very enjoyable. I did not have a pie pan so I used a square baking dish and just used two tortillas to make a layer. I ended up having to use two cans of refried beans since it was a bigger dish. I added a thin layer of beans on the top layer of tortillas with salsa and EXTRA cheese. It was great! Thanks for the recipe!
