Baked Teriyaki Chicken

I use a lot of bottled teriyaki sauce when grilling. Never even once thought of making my own. I came across this recipe and tried it. Not only was it simple, but the flavor is out of this world. Nothing you can buy in a bottle. I've been using this recipe for quite awhile now and will never buy a teriyaki sauce again. This is perfect, easy, and I always get compliments and requests for the recipe whenever I serve it up.

Chicken Francese

I gave this one star but truthfully would have given it no stars if possible. I'm not sure how this recipe actually turns out because I never even made it. Sounds like it might be good. I gave it 1 star because this is NOT Chicken Francese. CF is not made with cream. You bread chicken in flour, salt and pepper, than lighlty brown in butter. To that you add chicken stock and lemon juice and gently sauted the sauce. There are no onions, cream or parmesan cheese in Chicken Francese. I would call this "Creamy Chicken" maybe, but it's not even a close relation to an actual Chicken Francese recipe.

Best Ever Jalapeno Poppers

We made these a few weeks ago after we found ourselves with so many Jalapeno peppers in our garden. They were excellent!! The only change we made was using Panko instead of regular bread crumbs. They gave these an excellent crunch! Great recipe!

Anniversary Chicken I

I am giving this recipe 4 stars, but will say it may very well deserve 5. I made this last night and it was a hit. Only one small piece of chicken was left over. I only made one change to the recipe. I had no bacon bits, so I took about 8 slices of bacon, diced it up and fried it to just about crisp. The rest of the recipe left as is. I mixed the Teriyaki and Ranch together before spreading it on the chicken, and upon tasting it I was worried. It tasted as though the tastes did not blend well together. But I forged ahead and brushed it on the chicken and followed the recipe from there. My family loved it, and before I could say I was concerned about the sauce my husband said "This sauce is great!" I will say the sauce did have a better taste after it had been cooked then it did prior, but I still want to try this recipe again without the Teriyaki and just the Ranch, Bacon and Cheddar. So I gave it 4 stars. There are 5 of us in the family and 4 loved it, and I liked it. I do recommend using the real bacon though. I don't think I will ever use the bacon bits.

Broccoli Chicken Braid

We had this one Christmas when we were at my Sister-In-Laws house. My kids went nuts for it, and I loved it as well. She told me she got the recipe from a Pampered Chef party she attended and gave me the recipe. I've made it several times and everyone I've made it for has loved it! I have never made it with the almonds because people can be picky about nuts, but I may try adding them once. Super easy to make and very delicious. My husband hates brocolli and even he eats this.

Tater Tot Casserole I

This is a very simple and delicious dish, especially when you make it the night before and pop it in the oven the next morning. I have a similar recipe I am thinking of posting as well. My one and only suggestion for this recipe, that I personally do myself, is to allow the Tater Tots to thaw while still in the bag. Then I break them up before mixing the ingredients all together. It looks nicer, presentation wise, and actually tastes better since they tend to really absorb the eggs, sausage and cheese better when they are broken up.

Coconut-Lime Chicken with Grilled Pineapple

I made this once, exactly as described and was not happy with the results. I did have some hope for the sauce so I tried it again and made some adjustments. I used grilled shrimp instead of the chicken, and they did grab the tequila marinade better than the chicken. But for the sauce I used 8 oz. of sour cream, since the 16 oz. is too much. I then doubled the lime juice, coconut milk, garlic and cilantro. It was better, but stil on the bland side. I don't plan on making this recipe again, but I do think that the base of that sour cream/coconut milk sauce could have potential and I plan to work on tweaking that. I will say that the sour cream sauce was very good on the grilled pineapple since the sweet and sour mixed together nicely. But the sauce itself is too bland to add to much of anything else.

15-Minute Dinner Nachos Supreme

These were excellent and everyone loved them. I made them for my teenage son and several of his friends and they wiped them out! I made some changes though. I hate Tomato Soup, so in place of the Tomato Soup and the Instant Rice, I made a box of Zatarain's Spanish Rice with the can of diced tomatos. I made the rice seperately and then added it to the ground turkey (rather than ground beef) mixture and followed the rest of the recipe. I added additional toppings on the side for everyone to add as they liked, such as chopped red onion, sliced black olives, and sour cream. Definitely a hit and I already wrote it into my family cookbook!

Taco Pie II

I've been making this dip since I found a recipe for it in the late 1980's and it still is a huge hit everywhere I take it! I layer mine just a bit differently. I spread the cream cheese mixture on the bottom, then spread the chili mixture on top, then the salsa and then top with cheese. I always use Hormel's NO BEAN chili, as I think it tastes better without the beans and most people are not bean lovers. Delicious!
