I've been married since February of 2004 and I have three children, Jenny, born June, 2005, Elias, born September, 2006 and Erik, born June, 2008. I started really becoming interested in cooking when I worked in the kitchen at the school I met my husband at in 2002. I have always liked to cook, but that year, I learned new ways to cook.
My favorite things to cook
Vegetarian food, Asian food (I love making sushi; it's always better than what I can get in a restaurant). Food that my husband enjoys.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I make baked spaghetti (very easy) with Yves Veggie ground round, spaghetti sauce, whole wheat pasta and an Italian mix shredded cheese. It's certainly not gourmet, but it's quick and easy and once my husband said he liked it more than lasagna, it became a tradition.
My cooking triumphs
Making Asian food, serving it to Asian exchange students and getting lots of compliments. I figure that's always a good sign.
My cooking tragedies
Early foray into ice cream - I mixed peppermint extract into vanilla ice cream when I was about ten. No one told me how strong mint extract was, so I ended up with some extremely minty ice cream and I had to eat it (that was the rule - you make it, you eat it). It was awful!
