Valentina Morkie
About this Cook
I'm 25 and married for 2 years in June. We have a little 4.5 pound yorkie/maltese mix named 'Valentina.' I starting cooking when I got married, but I've always loved baking. I love to entertain and have my neighbors, who are also my friends, over to our home. I really dislike seafood, but I hope one day I will learn to like it!
My favorite things to cook
I love to make casseroles; anything healthy because that's what my husband loves. I like to use my crockpot!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother has a recipe for "spitz" that's the best! It's like a clear olive oil and garlic sauce with shreds of chicken, potatoes, basil and spaghetti.
My cooking triumphs
The chicken pesto pizza, the enchilada casserole, and 'the best meatballs' from Allrecipes.com!
My cooking tragedies
I've made quite a few terrible things in the crockpot.

Thai Chicken Pizza
Superb! I used Bolboli thin crust, a reduced fat colby jack shredded cheese, used less peanut butter, and cooked the chicken in low sodium soy sauce prior to baking. When the pie was in the oven, I pulled the pizza out when it had 5 minutes left and sprinkled cashews instead of peanuts over the pizza. It allowed to cashews to roast while the pizza was finished cooking. DO NOT FORGOE THE BEAN SPROUTS OR CARROTS! ITS AMAZING WITH ALL THE INGREDIENTS. A FAMILY STAPLE NOW.

Chicken Caesar Pitas
Very good! Used low-fat classic ceasar dressing (didn't use the entire bottle), turkey bacon instead of regular, whole wheat pitas, and forewent the homemade croutons for premium store-bought. Served it cold. Great recipe to prep early and serve later.

Chicken Pesto Pizza
Used 1 lb chicken, 12 inch Boboli thin crust pie, Knorr's pesto sauce mix and it was INCREDIBLE. I am NOT a cheese person; normally I take the cheese OFF my pizza. I used the fontina cheese and it was AMAZING. Aside from the extra chicken, I didn't change a thing and it was SUPERB. Neighbors were talking about it for days. A+++++++
