About this Cook
I am a 39 year old home cook and have been cooking since I was about 10 years old. I am a social worker by day working for a mental health agency who moonlights as a foodie and super cook by nights and weekends. I rescue meals times from disaster and peril nightly and give family something to savor at get togethers. I also love to travel and try new dishes that will inspire and challenge me to improve my cooking skills. I started really learning to cook well from my grandmother, and continues to learn from my parents, and other home cooks who have passed along their wisdom and inspirations. I am also addicted to watching food network on TV. But I love a few other things too: I also love movies, outdoor walks, animals especially dogs and guinea pigs. I enjoy spending time with family, and friends, especially my husband who is the love of my life. Sometimes I even poems and fiction. My favorite charity is helping those with kidney disease and promoting organ donation.
My favorite things to cook
Eggplant parmagiana and anything Italian. and Recipes that involve fresh seasonal vegatables.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love cooking with husband who my cooking assistant, dishwasher, taster, and all around best friend. I loved helping my grandmother in the kitchen to make cookies and any meals.
My cooking triumphs
Believe it or not the perfectly shaped and perfectly tasty poached egg is the most recent. Perfecting and using many of the recipes and techniques taught to me my grandmother.
My cooking tragedies
Abut 20 yrs ago when I was learning to cook I did not know the difference between a clove and bulb of garlic and used a bulb instead of a clove. The house and my skin smelled for a week. About a year ago I accidently substituted a horseradish root for a jiccama in a stir fry. Very spicy indeed.

Gorgonzola Stuffed Chicken Breasts Wrapped in Bacon
It was a delicious recipe but next time I make I will wrap the chicken with the bacon then sear it to the chicken in a hot pan on the stove top first.
