Tender 'n' Tangy Ribs

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2008
I guess this dish was alright.... the marinade didn't cover the ribs in the slow cooker and I was woried about that as I wasn't going to be home to turn them all day so I added a can of chopped tomato in peri peri sauce.... the final product was still a little boring, tasting mostly of vinegar so I took another reviewers suggestion and took the ribs out of the crock pot, lathered them in BBQ sauce and finished them off in the oven. They were pretty delicious after that.... but I didn't think they were that good without the BBQ sauce

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2008
This was absolutely delicious. It is so refreshing to find a slow cooker recipe that doesn't involve stockpiling mountains of "cream of something soup". I didn't have any beef so I used pork and I didn't have any garlic powder so I just used fresh garlic. I doubled the recipe and substitted the second lot of soy for sweet soy. I also added some worchestershire and a heap of black pepper as other reviewers suggested. After reading another reviewers comment, I was hesitant about adding two cans of tomato, but found that they almost completely disapeared. I also waited till the final hour to add the peppers. All in all this was a great recipe that I will be making again and again! Thank you!

Egg Noodles

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2008
I don't know what I did wrong. Followed this recipe exactly, turned out a gluggy sticky mess. Added a whole lot more flour to it but it was still very sticky and hard to work with. Let it sit for about half an hour...still couldn't work with it. I ended up not using it, fearing that the result would be a tough rubbery noodle...

Asian Ground Beef and Pepper Saute

Reviewed: May 15, 2008
I thought this was great. I found it very versatile. Instead of putting two whole peppers in it, I put a quarter of each and then put a little bit of everything in my fridge, bok choy, zucchini, cauliflower, brocolli, carrot, onion and it was brilliant. I also had some left over rice from the night before, instead of heating it up, I just added it when I added the meat back. I thought the two table spoons of ginger would be over powering but it was lovely. I was also hesitant about adding the chilli as one of our diners isn't the biggest fan of heat but it was great, barely noticable (i would probably add a little extra if it was just me and the hubby). I also needed a little extra stock and soy sauce to account for the extra veggies I added. Thank You for a great stir fry style dish that I could whip up from everything I had at home!

Batman's Best Caesar Dressing

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2007
I had run out of the store bought stuff and needed a quick and easy recipe, needless to say I probably won't be buying the store stuff anymore. I thought this recipe was perfect and I had the satisfaction of knowing I had made it myself. I didn't have any anchovies so I omitted them, might try it with anchovies next time. It is true what the other reviews said... it isn't exactly the same as the restaurant version but then most home cooked meals aren't. I loved it.
