Luscious Slush Punch

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2011
This is a very delicious punch!! I have made it for birthday parties, wedding showers, etc. and have gotten so many compliments. I only add about 1 cup (or less) of sugar since it's already plenty sweet with the jello, juices, and soda. I divide it in half and freeze it in ziploc bags. You need to take it out quite awhile before you want to serve it or you will be trying to chop up a solid block of ice. At least a couple hours before you want to serve it or longer. I've had to microwave it before so it would thaw enough to chop into slush. I like to serve it with ginger ale instead of lemon-lime soda. So good!! My go-to punch recipe!!

Caribbean-Style Chicken Salad

Reviewed: May 17, 2008
I used canned chicken breast and shred it apart because I was too lazy to grill. I substituted avocado because I didn't have any jicama and I also added chopped red onion. I just poured all the dressing over it and mixed it together. This is absolutely delicious and makes a great light and refreshing dinner on a warm day. I'll be eating this all summer!

Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2011
These muffins are SO good!! This is my new favorite recipe to use up my brown bananas, and it's so easy. The only changes I make are halving the amount of oil (they are plenty moist with the bananas and yogurt - you could probably get by without oil), using Greek plain yogurt, and mini chocolate chips. Really, really good!!!!

Greek Pasta Salad with Shrimp, Tomatoes, Zucchini, Peppers, and Feta

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2009
It was a hot day so I didn't want to start the oven to roast the veggies so I used chopped cucumbers, red peppers, celery, red onion, and halved grape tomatoes. Otherwise I followed the rest exactly. This was really delicious and my husband also raved about it. I was skeptical about the dijon dressing for it but it is really perfect! This recipe would also be good with another type of meat besides shrimp.

Bagel Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2007
This is such good dip! My husband loves it and makes it often, too. Every time we take it anywhere, people rave. We don't add MSG because that's ridiculous. It tastes great without it and the dried beef adds plenty of salt. And you can cut down on the dill a little and we use chopped dried onion. With two packages of bagels, there's still a little dip left so maybe 2 1/2 packages would be better. We usually do plain and wheat.

Fruit Dip II

Yummy! It didn't make as much as I thought it would so I folded in 2 or 3 cups of Cool Whip and it fluffed it up and tasted great.

These are good using the round pretzels and then instead of a pecan, stick an M&M on top.

Caramel Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2008
I've had people tell me these are the best bars of any kind that they've ever had, and I agree! I double the recipe for a 9x13 pan and they are a perfect size and thickness. I use two bags of the already unwrapped caramel pieces (usually in the baking aisle) and those save a lot of time. Thank you for a great recipe--these are so good!!

Oatmeal Banana Nut Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2007
I just made this tonight and it is wonderful. I did use half white and half brown sugar and sprinkled walnuts, cinnamon, and sugar on the top. I also used closer to 1 1/2 c. bananas. I made four mini loaves and they turned out great. Try this recipe!!

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2007
These brownies are the best ever! I made them to send to my husband who is away in the Army and he and all the soldiers he shared them with just love them. They want more! I can't believe how good they are. The only change I made was to use half white and half brown sugar, per other reviewers' suggestions. Thank you--these are so yummy!!

Apple Oatmeal Crisp

Wonderful as written. I get so many compliments every time I make this. Sometimes I just put all the crumble on top and none on bottom and it works out well either way.

Beer Margaritas

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2009
When I made these my husband thought I was crazy but he ended up thinking they were the best margaritas he's ever tasted. I got this recipe from my mother-in-law and the only difference was that instead of 12 oz. of water, her recipe called for 12 oz. of lemon-lime soda in place of that. Very good!!!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2008
I just made this today for a dinner I'm going to tonight and oh my gosh is it ever GOOD!! I used blackberries instead of raspberries because they were cheaper, lower sugar strawberry preserves, a little lime juice, and honey. I didn't use any of the sugars and it was plenty sweet. I also bought the new cinnamon Sun Chips to save time and those are fabulous with this. I'll be making this A LOT!!

Garden Veggie Pizza Squares

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2008
I made this as an appetizer on Christmas Eve to go with our many soups and my family loved it! I used two tubes of the crescent rolls and they fit perfectly in my large cookie sheet. I would suggest making more of the cream cheese mixture if you do this though. Mine was spread a little thin. For my veggies I cheated and filled a to go container from my grocery store's deli area salad bar since some of the chopping was already done. I used broccoli, cauliflower, red peppers, purple cabbage, shredded carrots, and green onions. Then I put shredded cheddar cheese over top. Press everything down to make sure it sticks in the cream cheese and also cool the crust completely before you put anything on it. Thanks for a very good recipe!!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2007
I have made this lasagna several times and it is truly the best. The last time I made it, I prepared it the night before and put it in the fridge and baked it the next day and it tasted even better. The only substitution I make is using brown sugar instead of white and using a little more than is called for. I like my tomato sauce sweet. But you should really try this because it is definitely worth the time and people will rave about it!! I will use the recipe every time I make lasagna from now on.

AMAZING!!! I followed other reviews and added 1 T of white sugar and 1 t of vanilla, otherwise made them as is. Cooked them on an electric griddle at 300 degrees and they were so fluffy and melted in your mouth. I will be making these a lot!! My new favorite food!! :)
