About this Cook
I grew up cooking with my mom and grandma. The kitchen was always a place of comfort and delight with traditional midwest comfort foods. I try to create that feeling for my own family now, but lean toward more healthy, flavorful, and adventurous dishes. We like to try new flavors, which is why I love this site. There are lots of things here I never would have thought of on my own. I am a nurse by trade, but a cook at heart. My friends and family are constantly telling me I should cater or start up some kind of cooking business, but I'm afraid that would take all the fun out of it. I just love to cook good food and watch people enjoy.

Fish Tacos
OMG! Delicious is not the word. I didn't make the batter, just dipped the tilapia in milk and panko crumbs. It's the sauce that makes it, though. Added some red and yellow peppers along with purple cabbage for color. A little avocado and pico to top it off. Good Eats!

Cranberry Sauce
Just made this for Thanksgiving and tasted it warm. OMG!!! So delish!! The only thing I did add was one can of jellied cranberry sauce right at the end and stirred it in until melted, just to help thicken it. So simple and elegant. Think I'll sprinkle it with a few walnuts just prior to serving.

Sesame Crisps
These cookies had a nice flavor, but stuck to the pan even with greasing and flattened out too much around the edges and were soft in the middle, which made it even harder to get the stuck cookies off.
