About this Cook
I am 34 and live with my kitty but I love to cook for my friends and family. I am a host who loves to go above and beyond to please my guests.
My favorite things to cook
Anything I think my friends and family will love.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom was a stay at home when I was a child. She was always a big baker and so my love of making cookies comes from her. She also taught me important things like how to take inexpensive ingredients and make them a filling family dinner.
My cooking triumphs
I am getting known for my theme meals. The best one I pulled off was this year for the Olypmics I went all Greek. Greek meat, even the cucumber sauce from scratch. I got a ton of compliments on it and enjoyed every minute preparing it including shredding those cucumbers.
My cooking tragedies
Although I have cooked a hundred meals in a pressure cooker. This one time I had company over and I wanted to make a good impression. Of course there was a strict timetable and I wanted to get the food on the table so instead of waiting for all the steam to exit out of the pressure cooker I took the lid off. Well lets just say I am still finding little pieces of potato and carrot in the kitchen. It went everywhere and made one heck of a mess and I had to clean and cook all new vegetables.

Janet's Rich Banana Bread
This was easy to make and tasted really good. My very picky brother-in-law said it was the best banana bread ever.

Brown Sugar Smokies
These are so good. I followed a reviewer's suggestion and prepped them the night before. I wrapped them and put them in a ziploc with 6 Tbsp of brown sugar. When I baked them the next day I did not add anymore sugar and they were perfect. Sweet but not overly sweet, so good I will definately make again.

Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip II
This was so awesome!! I did mix the mozzerella in instead of putting it on top. However I think I should have put some on top to let the dip brown. As it was it did not get brown on top at all. That did not change the taste, it still was yummy.
