Raspberry Ribbons

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
Very tasty - very difficult to do with the bars so I did what other people did and make cookies. Be careful how much jam you use though - it'll run when you bake it if you aren't careful. This will get added to my list of cookie standards though.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
You couldn't mess this dough up if you tried! I have been looking for a good sugar cookie recipe since my grandmother's recipe book was lost in a fire - I think I've maybe tried and rejected at least 50 of them. This one is so easy, and so great to work with I didn't even use once pinch of flour or sugar with my rolling pin! No joke! I used parchment paper to roll-out and on the baking sheets. I would recommend this, especially for a first time baker. Awesome taste too - I just can't get over the dough though. I didn't change one thing on this recipe right down to the baking time. To whomever created this recipe and also the person that shared it - thanks from the bottom of mine and my teenagers stomachs!

French Silk Chocolate Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2010
GREAT Pie - great taste, so good. My 3 boys and my husband ate one whole pie by themselves over Thanksgiving. Didn't change a thing other than decorating the top a bit different.

Key Lime Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2010
Great pie - filling could be a bit lighter. I added more a bit more whipped egg whites to the second one I made and it was delicious.

Best Meatloaf in the Whole Wide World!

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2010
Loved this recipe, and my whole family loves it too! Even my teenagers, who turn their nose up at the mention of the words meat and loaf in the same sentence, ate this like they hadnt' eaten in weeks. Great recipe - I only changed one thing - I used real bacon instead of bacon bits. Nummy!

Scalloped Corn

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2009
Another winner from someone that loves allrecipes like me! This one I doubled for a family reunion and baked for 50 minutes because it was quite watery in the center at 40. Also note - drain the canned corn! The recipe doesn't say so but you gotta or it will never set. Taste sweet and cornbread like and its just the best. I added a little cajun seasoning to give it a kick.

Chicken Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2009
My hubby loves, loves, loves this pot pie...he is extremely picky so this is where I sneak some "unidentified" veggies in and he never even notices. He asks for this for dinner at least once a week. This is a good one!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2009
Dry, dry, dry - not sure why, followed recipe exactly, measured bananas out and everything. All other ingredients were fresh off the shelf so not sure what I did to it. Maybe because I used glass bread pans so it overcooked?? Oh well, I'll try again.

Best Ever Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2009
I was a bit skeptical about the simple ingredients but I happened to have everything on hand for short notice family get together & every single person wanted to know where I got the recipe & could I share! I followed the ingredients to a T but used the new Olive Oil Mayo cause that's the only kind I had...funny though, the salad went so fast I didn't get to taste it. Time to make again!

Grilled Brown Sugar Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 10, 2009
I was able to serve and wow the pickiesst of family & friends with this simple basting marinade. Its perfect on the grill and carmelizes right to the chop - yum! I didn't change a thing about the recipe but I did use our homemade apple cider. I'm going to try it next with a bit of cinnamon added to see what happens then. Thanks for the recipe!

Garlic Cheese Chicken Rollups

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2009
These were ok but very rich and very tough to keep together. You almost need a perfectly shaped piece of chicken for each roll-up.

This was excellent - I put it with a layer of ganache and a graham cracker crust in my largest springform. It was wonderful!

Grocery Store Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2009
This was good frosting BUT it took about 23 minutes to get it to the right consistency and mixed well. And I would NEVER try this with a cheap mixer.

Good stuff even though my first attempt didn't work out so well. Third time was the charm although I don't exactly know what I did differently that helped.

Dill Pickle Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2009
This was good but the first loaf I made wasn't "pickly" enough. Increase the juice to water ratio and add more chopped dills. Oh, and put the crust on light - the crust got a "burnt pickle" smell when I used medium.

Ganache I

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2009
I used this ganache as the 1st layer in a no-bake cheesecake with a graham cracker crust. Perfect! And very easy to make. I can't believe something so decadent is this simple.
