Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2010
NEW FAVORITE crock pot recipe! Used one can each of black beans, kidney beans, and chili beans (cause we like beans in this house), and a small jar of salsa in place of the tomatoes with chiles (cause that's what I had), and it was delicious! Cheap to make, and I think you could sub a lot of ingredients depending on your preference/pantry supply and it will still turn out great! I liked it served over rice and hubby liked it served over rotini noodles. This one made it into the TNT recipe book for our house - thank you!!

Chai Tea Mix

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
Has wonderful flavor and is a delicious treat, but I also had the problem of spices "sinking" to the bottom of the cup and so I didn't use it for gifts, as I had intended. The silver lining: a whole batch for me to enjoy all winter. P.S.: any friends I served it to, said the stuff at the bottom of the cup didn't bother them, and it didn't bother me either!!

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2009
I'm sorry to rate this recipe so low, but I feel that the amount of work involved was too much for the so-so end result. The taste of the cake balls was certainly "boxed" and I think everyone could tell they were made with "bought" ingredients. I would have rather spent my time on a unique cookie or pie. Sorry!

Curried Chicken Tea Sandwiches

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
I think this is a GREAT recipe, however, the mayo was a little heavy for me. I cut the mayo in half and added a little extra curry (it's my fave). I also added grapes (cause I had them). Served wrapped in whole-wheat tortillas, but this would be delicious on croissants, or any fancy bread. I will certainly make this again in the future! P.S. EVEN BETTER the second day!!

Byrdhouse Marinated Tomatoes and Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
Delicious! I used olive oil instead of veg oil and added fresh buffalo mozarella "pearls" (little balls of mozz). Great on day one, even better on day two. Will make this one over and over. Thanks for a great recipe!

Chickpea Salad with Red Onion and Tomato

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2009
I loved this recipe and will make it again. Use fresh parsley and lemon juice, it makes a big difference. I also added a splash of balsamic vinegar, as I thought the olive oil was a little heavy. But I will make this again. Thanks for a great and healthy recipe!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
This was perfect pumpkin bread. Follow other reviewers suggestions (i.e. applesauce, etc.). This will stay in my "good" recipe box!

Honey Baked Chicken II

This was good, I really liked the curry, but a little too sweet. Hubby did not care for it.

Bacon and Tomato Cups

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2008
Made these for my husbands birthday party and they (among lots of finger foods) were the first to go and got so many comments! Everyone loved them. I made one week in advance, didn't _completely_ bake them, froze, and took them out of the freezer the day of the party, popped in the oven, reheated, and they were great.

Pat's Baked Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2008
This was my first attempt at baked beans and they were great! I made no changes, but this is one where you could add/omit things as you please to meet your tastes. Will definitely make again with some of my own additions and will try in the crockpot! Thanks!

Mama's Best Broiled Tomato Sandwich

Made this many many many times over the summer with fresh tomatoes from the garden. I think it worked best when broiled open-face. But it's delicious!! Make this!!

Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2008
My husband and I both agreed that this soup was tasty and hearty! I made it with V8. It makes A TON (lasted the two of us almost a week) and it's a refreshing and healthy dinner on cold Pittsburgh nights. We'll crave it again, so I'll make it again!

Savory Garlic Marinated Steaks

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2007
This has become a staple in our home! Recipe makes enough to coat about 4 steaks, and has a bite to it! I make it exactly as written, with no changes, and it makes any steak tender and delicious!
