About this Cook
I am an Invertebrate Paleontologist, a "mom" to my Mercury, and a loving wife! I never thought I would be the kind of girl to cook a full dinner every day ...
My favorite things to cook
Any kind of dessert! I love baking cookies :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving, I love having tons of people over and cooking a meal fit for an army!
My cooking triumphs
Since I've been married, I have perfected my fried chicken, chicken flautas, chicken enchiladas, lemon chicken, macaroni and cheese, and a few cookie recipes.
My cooking tragedies
Home-made (red) pasta sauce. It is the bane of my existence.

Whole Wheat Banana Nut Bread
WOW! This is so good! The only changes I made were to omit the oil and substitute with apple sauce, and use half honey and half brown sugar. I have made this with standard whole wheat flour and with white whole wheat flour, the white wheat came out less dense, but both were amazing! Thanks for this great recipe, it's my new banana bread standard ;)

Peanut Blossoms II
I make cookies to give away every christmas and these are always a favorite! This recipe is great! One thing that I do is put chocolate and peanut butter kisses in the center instead of plain. They don't hold the kiss shape but they make cute little buttons for peanut butter freaks like me to enjoy even more :)

Catherine's Spicy Chicken Soup
Yum Yum! Very delicious! I served it with cheese, lime wedges and tortilla chips. I don't make soups that often but this one goes into the rotation :)
