About this Cook
SAHM to two great boys under two years old, and married to one great man!
My favorite things to cook
I love a bit of a challenge. I like to type in a couple ingredients I want to use up in my fridge or pantry, and see what allrecipes suggests. From there I pick something highly rated, check out the reviews, make some adjustments, and look forward to my husband's feedback! Even better is when my in-laws are guinea pigs and love my new recipe!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cheese scones with homemade strawberry jam for birthday breakfast. Tacos for birthday dinner. German Sweet Chocolate Cake for birthday dessert.
My cooking triumphs
One of my favorite cooking triumphs is my sweet potato recipe served at Thanksgiving. My sister-in-law ate so much of it, she felt sick! (Okay, so maybe that's not nice to think of it as a triumph.)
My cooking tragedies
I made my mom's stuffing recipe for Thanksgiving, but should have used low sodium chicken broth. Too salty! Bummer. I'll try again, though!

Chicken Salad
Used canned chicken, skipped the water chestnuts, and replaced the grapes with Braeburn apple. Excellent! The second and third times I made this, I was out of bacon. Used sunflower seeds instead, and it was great!

Pepperoni Pizza Pita
What a great way to make a fast dinner. I used flour tortillas instead of pita bread, added a bit of tomato sauce with spices (italian seasoning, basil, oregano, garlic powder) and fresh onion, along with the mozzarella and pepperoni. I put oil on the tortillas and put them in the oven for 2 minutes before adding the rest of the ingredients and putting them back in the oven for another 4 minutes. To try to entice my toddlers to eat it, I called it scissor pizza (I used the kitchen scissors to cut it up). They're not huge fans of pizza (bummer for me!), but I liked it., especially since i needed something quick and easy this evening. Thank you for the good idea.

Ham Muffinwiches
They sound great, and I think they have potential, but we didn't care for these.
