My daughter, 15, who never cooks said this morning, "I want to make cinnamon rolls". We never made before so I printed this recipe since it said 90 min. and looked fairly easy. Followed recipe exactly. However, used a 9x13 glass pan spacing the 9 rolls so not quite touching. Also she wanted frosting so we got from recipe called "Clone of Cinnabon". Rolls ended up big and fluffy like 4-5". I read review that had problems with the dough not rising, could maybe water been too cold or the milk cooled down to much and yeast didn't activate??? After we added the warm milk the dough definitely started to look alive! By the time the oven was preheated they had expended in the pan quite a bit. Grew even more during baking. When 20 min. were up, they looked perfect touching the sides of pan and each other. Moved rolls to a serving plate, then spooned any melted filling left in the pan over the rolls so not to waste. Topped with frosting. YUMMMM!!! These were melt in your mouth with a little bit of crunch and the best thing I think I have ever tasted! My daughter could not even finish one because she said it was so sweet. I think the frosting looked nice drizzled on top but maybe was overkill on the sweetness. But that's good because then we won't eat too many! Next time I will make w/o adding any frosting and maybe even try a little less brown sugar in the filling. Thanks GOOFYDEBBIE for a great first experience making cinnamon rolls w/my daughter!
